What a pleasant stay our family enjoyed at La Kukula Lodge! The accommodations exceeded our expections for the price. Proximity to the beach while being surrounded by jungle was fantastic! Cooked-to-order breakfast each morning ensured we started our day off right. We will definitely be back- thank you!!

The property is set in amazing rainforest gardens, the hosts are charming and welcoming and so enthusiastic about the wildlife in the area, so happy to show visitors the frogs and lizards, sloths and birds. I absolutely loved it. It felt so safe, clean and friendly i would definitely recommend La Kukula Lodge

A wonderful jungle property with the sounds and sights of nature all around. The hosts were very attentive, the included breakfasts were excellent. Everything was very well maintained. An easy walk to a gorgeous natural clean beach. Everything about this unique property was excellent!

Great place to feel immersed in the jungle, with trees and animals all around. We saw a sloth, monkeys and agouti, they have a tiny frog sanctuary, and it's close to the beach (10 min). Room has a mosquito net and helps to feel immersed in the jungle (no windows) Food and drinks are available and the breakfast was decent.

The room was very clean and comfortable. However, it would have been nice to have a refrigerator and also an air conditioner since it can get very warm and the ceiling fan alone does not cool the room down. The staff and owners are super friendly and very attentive. We left very early in the morning and the lady working in the kitchen (I believe her name was Gira) offered to prepare us some sandwiches, which super nice of her. One negative was that things do not dry since its super humid outside as well as in the room. However, if you enjoy nature this is definitely the place to stay!

Sonya and her staff were amazing. Very patient with my limited Spanish. Able to coordinate and assist with coordination of all my transportation needs. The property is amazing and a fabulous place to relax!!!!!

Only stayed one night and wished it would have been longer. Owners did all they could to make it a great experience. Food(dinner and included breakfast) was great. Connected us with a trusted driver that got us through an unknown period with ease. Spanish speaking was necessary for that though

La Kukula Lodge is an amazing Costa Rican jungle experience. The accommodations are unbelievable matched only by the surroundings. You really are in the middle of a jungle. From seeing agoutis for the first time to waking up to the sound of howler monkeys, you never knew what you were going to get. The owners make you feel very welcome and at home. The staff are all very friendly and English is widely spoken. They serve a complimentary breakfast which was delicious! A truly amazing stay in Costa Rica!

Only for Exhibitionists !!!

We had booked this place based on reviews and expected to visit CR for the first time and stay at a comfortable place with "attentive owners". Owners were out of the country and the place was being managed by the owner of a another lodge. Nobody there at night to address issues to except for "security guards" that do not speak any english. Rooms are very bare minimum, no AC, which is not good given the recent increase in humidity, as we were told. The bed is way too hard to ever get comfortable. There are no real windows in the bathroom, only screens, so at night if you have the lights on, you are in full view of the guards with nowhere to hide. Our toilet did not work, was shut off as it turns out, and in the middle of the night there was sewage backing up into the shower, about 6 inches deep. All this to the lovely sounds of the waterpump, which is conveniently located right outside your bathroom "window", and seems to run all night, ruining any remaining chances of sleep. We politely asked to check out after our first night, were told that would be alright by the manager and we went across the street to much needed comfort. Now, over a month later, both the owner and Expedia refuse to take any responsibility and issue us a refund. BUYERS BEWARE

Excelente lugar!

Es un lugar fantastico, acogedor. En medio de la naturaleza sin sentirse invasivo. Los propietarios son personas cálidas, respetuosas y amigables. Todo estaba perfectamente limpio y en buen estado. La ubicación es perfecta, se puede caminar en pocos minutos a la playa o a varios restaurantes de diferente gastronomía, ademas que el servicio de restaurante de La Kukula es delicioso .

Die Kukula Lodge war unsere beste Unterkunft während unseres Urlaubes in Costa Rica. Es hat einfach alles gepasst. Wir hatten eine Familien Lodge mit Pool direkt vor der Tür. Morgens wurde man von Brüllaffen geweckt, Agutis, Echsen, farbige Frösche und ein Faultier direkt vor der Nase. Das Frühstück war im Vergleich zu anderen Frühstücken unserer Reise- einzigartig - man konnte immer zwischen zwei Varianten wählen. Es gab immer frisch gepresstes Saft und eine große Obstschale. Die Kids konnten super leckeren Kakao bestellen. Ei in verschiedenen Varianten mit Reis und Bohnen oder z.B. Brot mit Marmelade oder Butter. Der Besitzer war äusserst hilfsbereit und hat uns bei vielen geholfen- Fahrräder organisiert- einzigartige Tiere gezeigt und viel Infos über diese gegeben. Beim Gedanken an die Kukula Lodge will ich sofort zurück- wir haben es als Familie geliebt da zu sein und danken für dieses einzigartige Erlebnis Empfehlung zu 100 Prozent

können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Mehrere Bungalos im Dschungel verteilt und nur einige 100M zum Playa Chiquita. Bereits beim ausgezeichneten Frühstück begegnet man Kolibris, Fröschen und Agutis. Von den Eigentümern bis zum Team der Zimmerreinigung alle zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.

La Kukula lodge

Fantastiskt litet hotell placerat mitt i djungeln, men med bara ca 200 m till närmaste strand. Även nära till flera suveräna restauranger. Vi hade ett stort familjerum med två rum, vardagsrum och badrum. Det var rent och trevligt med sköna sängar. Stor terrass med en härlig pool precis bredvid. Personalen är underbara, lämnar information om området och är otroligt hjälpsamma. Eftersom man bor mitt i djungeln måste man vara beredd på att det är ljud från t.ex apor på natten. Detta gör att man också får se massor av djur från sin egen terass, så som apor, sengångare, agoutis och ödlor. La Kukula lodge var det bästa stället vi bodde på i Costa rica av totalt sex hotell.
