The people working there are amazing. They keep the hacienda beautiful and clean. Food and drinks were outstanding. Bungalow was great. I will definitely go back.
Natural setting was amazing next to Rio Dulce. We arrived when it was dark so they sent someone to meet us the Litegua bus terminal and bring via boat to the hotel reception. The cabin was a little dated, but was comfortable and AC worked great. My wife and I loved our stay.

Liked: Amenities
😀 Nice and clean bungalows ; the food was very good ; and I liked the paths through the private jungle (ecological area) behind the accommodation, which belongs to the property (85Q per person)
We rented a kajak for 65Q per person, which was a nice excursion
🙁 the main street and the bridge was very close and we heard always the noise of the trucks crossing the bridge
Visitors are mainly bigger tourist groups instead of individual travelers or backpackers
Stunning property situated on a mangrove, wooden walkways take you from the parking lot to your individual cabin, the restaurant, the pool, etc. Quite humid being situated in basically a rainforest; unlike many places in Guat there is A/C here, as it is much needed. English speaking staff was very helpful in dealing with an issue (nothing to do with the hotel). Proximity to Rio Dulce (the city) a plus. Boats to Livingston depart right from the property. A truly delightful experience worth of more than one night. Do make the journey to the Gulf while you are here. Much fauna and flora as well.
This hotel is an experience in itself. Nestled in a mangrove, the hotel is built on stilted walkways. There are turtles and crocodiles (sometimes), but apparently they do not bother people. You can relax at their restaurant or by the pool or choose to participate in activities such as sunrise kayaking to an island with monkeys, a horseback ride, a walk through their farmland, or a day trip to Livingston. The people who work there are friendly and organized. The place is kept very clean and comfortable. I personally like that you can access it by land or boat. Many similar spots are only accessible by boat, which makes me feel too isolated! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Beautiful property on the shores of Rio Dolce within Rio Dolce National Park. Good food, awesome environment! Only challenge was we entered via the road. Tuk tuk could only take us to the gates of the property and then we had to walk 350 meters in. Not great if it's poor weather. It would have been appreciated if there was a shuttle from the gate entrance. Property delivered us via boat into town.
The beds could be a little better, to my taste they were a little bit too hard, that’s the main reason I didn’t stayed longer but other than that the place is amazing
Overall we had a very good stay. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We also got to meet and spent time with several members of the resident marina community who matched the staff perfectly. Our only complaint was when some extremely large tour groups descended on the complex and seemed to overwhelm the quaint nature of the location.
This was the best places on Guatemala. They offer their own tours through the jungle and river. I will be going back next year when I can spend more time. The staff can understand English.
