The Good - clean, centrally located, large room/bathroom, ok bed, breakfast included, quite nice pool.
The Bad - no fridge, staff not available to help lug suitcase up and down 2 flights of stairs, breakfast very basic, slippery tiled floors, towels for rent at $US5 day not communicated, a bit challenging if you don’t speak Spanish.
I was worried when I was reading other reviews but it was last minute trip and there weren't many choices, we stayed in 3 different hotels in Gallapagos and this was the best one. There is still some construction going on but it didn't bother us, breakfasts was sufficient, no issues with hot water. Only reason why I didn't rate 5 stars was that toilet wasn't flushed when we checked in which made me question cleaning procedures.
The hotel location was great, close to everything. Staff really nice. The breakfast can be better. The rooms are dated, but very clean. Worth the money.
This property is centrally located and well maintained. The main complaint is that there was raely anyone at the reception when assistancecwas needed..
The staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. Some comments below were talking about construction and lack of hot water. We did not face these issues. We were a family of 4 and stayed in their 1 bedroom apartment. I did not notice any construction taking place, maybe its all done. And their was no shortage of hot water for a family of 4. The location was great too, its a 5 min walk to the pier.

I normally don’t write reviews but now I feel propelled to say something. This hotel appears nice and clean. It is right at the city center. However the staff is not friendly. The girl who worked on the weekend could care less about what you need. When I wanted to leave the key there when I was going for a swim, she refused to take my room key in the reception. When I have WiFi problem in my room, she says it works on her phone and nobody had complained except me therefore she refused to help. The kitchen staff would not serve me when I told them I’m in a hurry to go to a morning program. They would serve everyone else first even though I was the first to arrive the kitchen.
The only convenient thing about Blue Marlin Hotel was the location. You can definitely find places to eat and visit around this area but please do yourself a favor and don’t go there. The pictures may seem decent but the customer service we received was terrible. The lady at front desk (owner) was unprofessional, she had an attitude and charged us $25 for a towel we never took. On the other hand, the cleaning staff took a towel that belonged to us and we had to wait two days for them return it. We felt uncomfortable in the facilities not only for the terrible customer care but mostly due to the poor cleanliness of the rooms and common areas such as the pools, the dinning area and the social area. The room we stayed in was filthy, with stained carpets/mats and dirty linens. The bed sheets and pillows smelled really bad. The bathrooms towels and floor mats were old and stinky too. The bathtub had humidity stains all around it. You can actually see the fungus/mold all over it. The dining experience was terrible as well. Breakfast is included but it is not worth it at all, unless you want to have hotdogs in ketchup sauce for breakfast. The fruits, coffee and butter with jelly did not taste fresh. The pool was freezing cold and they never turned on the whirlpool. We were told that we had to let them know two hours ahead for they to turn it on and when we did ask for it, they said they only keep it on until 5pm very day. So we never got to use it. Totally ridiculous!

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The room we had was very large with a separate bedroom which was nice. There was a tv in the bedroom but not in the main room which was strange. Our bedroom faced the street and the streetlight cast a lot of light into our room. The curtains are not adequate to darken the room.
Breakfasts were minimal and the same day after day. Small bowl of fruit, an egg, piece of meat and cheese. Bun was sometimes fresh.
The pool is nice- the hot tub is not hot and the jets didn’t work.
Hotel has a good location-very walkable to restaurants etc.
There is an amphitheatre across the street where events were held almost nightly-very loud and went on until 2 am at times so sleep was difficult. Single pane windows made it seem like there were no windows at all for sound.
Staff was hit and miss. Housekeepers were friendly. Breakfast staff were mostly ok but got the feeling from some that we were a nuisance. The front desk attendant that was there mostly in the afternoons was not pleasant and helpful. When asked for towels, I was told right away and it took over an hour. When I asked for toilet paper I was told maybe tomorrow, as I hadn’t actually run out. I did run out and took the empty roll down-she told me maybe tomorrow. I let her know that was not good enough. She said someone was out buying it and there was none left in the hotel because other guests had asked for it. Anyhow she did end up procuring a roll and delivering it to the room.
Good and clean. The hot water took a while to warm up but after that it was really hot for a long long time -so nice! No complaints except he bathroom door handle was a bit broken so sometimes you got a little stuck.
You can walk straight from the pier to the hotel. The pool area is really nice, rooms are big, good water pressure and walkable to the Malecon and restaurants.
This hotel is centrally situated in San Cristobal Island. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helped us with reservations and taxi service
The girls at the kitchen are awesome, hard workers. Every morning this girls bring you breakfast with a smile, you van hear them laugh in the kitchen, make a great environment.
Hotel is super clean (thank for these ladies). Everyone is very fliendly.
