It was really nice place to stay quiet. Good restaurants around the hotel property just needs a lot of work with the rooms in the property.

What a little gem!

Not much to look at but, WOW! You can tell that things are being redone and improved. GREAT location and great accommodations. Had a wonderful stay! Very central to everything also.

Weekend Getaway

Came to town for a wedding and stayed in the cottage for a weekend. Great location, great room, Joe was a very responsible manager, and the breakfast place next door was a Major plus!! Super close to drive to the grocery store, bars, and Venice beach.

The room was clean except for the sticky floors. The property manager was very helpful and even brought me ice!!! All things necessary were there though not fancy. Was good for me. A very safe area with parking right outside your door.

Grove City Motel

The overall stay was good. Joe the Manager allowed us to check in early and was very hospitable and accommodating. The area was safe and very quiet at night, allowing us to get a good night's sleep. Although, the only negative was that the hotel is very outdated. We stayed in the cottage and it could have been cleaned a little better. The window coverings were old curtains and blinds that didn't fit the window sills, allowing some light to creep in at night. The bed was comfortable and the old window AC had to be kept on all night in order to cool the room, and it was quite loud. Other than that, with a few upgrades the place is worth the stay for a one-nighter.

The pictures must be outdated because while they show a very simple motel, the reality of it is, I’m not sure this should be a functional establishment until some work is done. Amenities included a full sized fridge and stove which was nice. We were given three tiny hand soaps and a half used travel bottle of shampoo. The floors turned your socks black so we wore our shoes the full stay. I believe there was black mold throughout the shower in the large cracks that were poorly recaulked. There’s no vents in the bathroom so the expectation is that you open the tiny window, unfortunately there’s no screen and you’re within view if anyone is out back. The blinds didn’t fully cover the windows so picture frames were set in them to try and provide privacy. There was no check in or out instructions. A text was sent to me on the day of check in that said my key was sitting in the unlocked room. I have no idea what check out instructions were so I left the keys where they were when we got there. I don’t typically write bad reviews but we were stuck staying at this motel because there was no other places to go once we got there. I spent close to $500 on a place I felt uncomfortable in and I don’t want anyone else to get stuck doing the same. We even went out and bought towels and pillows because the ones provided smelled so bad. It could be a super great place if time and money were put in, but right now, I’m very surprised they are allowed to rent rooms especially at the price.

First room they put us in smelled badly like smoke. Cigarette butts everywhere in parking lot, shower was in terrible need of repair, grout and caulking was terrible looking , shower faucet leaked, very old and shabby rooms. It looked nothing like the pictures, would not stay there again.

Zero towels, no rags. Someones belongings dispersed here and there, dirty dish in sink when I walked in. Surfaces clean enough, picture in bathroom had a quarter inch of dust on top tho. And a random snail trail across the couch. Cheap though, a/c worked well, but sounded like a 7.3 diesel

The A/C worked fine. There was dish soap but nothing to wash dished with. No sponge or cloth. No dish towels. No hot pads. No spoons. Only 2 little salad forks. One glass. Wine opener but no wine glasses. No bath mat. No rugs at all. Only one hand towel. 2 bath towels and 2 wash clothes were of extremely poor quality, very thin. One sofa than had seen much better days, very uncomfortable, and no other furniture in living area. No end tables, lamps or chairs. This property could be so cute but is kept like a low rate property.
