"Quick and easy process for last minute booking. Host was prompt, informative, and kind. Arrived after dark, parking is free but was thankful to have a second person in the car navigating. Parking garage wouldn’t be ideal if you drive a large vehicle. Would have given a 5-star but we planned to eat breakfast on the go and there were no grab and go options or disposable dishes other than a coffee cup."

"The decor in our room was not what you would expect from a large hotel chain. The room was very comfy, and felt more like visiting a friend or relative's home. It was quiet, and all the staff was very helpful."

"Couldn't get a room at my usual place, so I tried this one. It was an older property, but everything was nice and clean. Breakfast was good, staff was helpful, and overall had a great experience. I would definitely stay again. Did not get a chance to use in room hot tub or pool, but both looked very nice."

"The staff was great but the elevators not work to go down and at one point to go up was somewhat inconvenient. Guess it helped me get my steps in. Other than that the stay was good!"

"Everything was great, except there was a constant leak in the bathroom on the floor between the stool and the sink and in front of the sink. Large puddles of water that required towels to mop them up and the lightbulb in the bathroom kept blinking after the light was left on after 30 seconds. It was reported to the front desk, but nothing was done. It was Memorial Day weekend, and it would have been difficult to find someone to fix it. It didn't spoil our stay, though."

"Shower need to be re-caulked. Coffee machine at breakfast delivered half water. No hot or warm water in the morning for a shower before 7:30- 8:00. Immigrant attendant didn't answer the front desk phone and was not helpful. Could barely speak understandable English. When I inquired about no hot water, the reply was: The maintenance man doesn't come until 8:30. No more La Quinta hotels for us. Don't recommend this hotel."

"Unique property that is very thoughtfully appointed. Loved the huge indoor pool. Would be a nice getaway in winter from Chicago. Interestingly Iowa City has some great restaurants and is a fun college town. The hotel gym needs some TLC. Most equipment need repairs."

"The hotel was ok. The weirdest thing was that there was water in the scrambled eggs and sausage! It was a minimalist breakfast. There was no staff overseeing it either. The receptionist was who we had to go to for help. Location is good."
