"Such a unique experience. Beautiful place. This was the castle the Knights of Templar used until Henry VIII took it when he created the Church of England and took all Catholic Church holdings. Much different than when they had it, if course, but a cool little tidbit."
"The castle alone was really nice. They were doing renovations so the dinning area was closed. Only the dungeon Bar was open. I was a little disappointed with that and planned a nice evening dinning. The library bar was closed at night due to under staff. Which again I could of stayed in the dungeon bar but the library would of been a nice evening event. Overall, I would recommend people to stay there. They stated the other areas in the castle should be open soon. We went for a couple of walks...
"Booked for a quick trip over to Ireland to visit a relative who lives nearby so the hotel was well located for what we were looking for. The hotel is set in landscaped grounds and is impressive when you drive in. Reception is nice and the staff most helpful. The rooms are large (executive twin) with a large single beds and sizeable bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. Robes and slippers are a nice touch. The fixtures are a little dated but worked fine, furniture is quite badly scuffed...
