"It was better than I expected. It's a 1960's era hotel that has been moderately well maintained. The property looks better in the photos than in person, but I would definitely stay there again. Parking was excellent, even on a VERY BUSY Comic-Con 2026 weekend. Nobody had to double park the entire 3 day weekend. Yes you can park in EV charging spots once the other spots are full. The only noise of note was a backup beeper of delivery trucks from a Mexican food distributor next door. It was not bothersome, but you did notice it if you happened to be awake after 3am. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The important stuff was all clean, though they did miss a few crumbs hiding behind cords. Bathrooms were well cleaned and maintained. The shower had an odd water switch that needed to be pulled out to open. The bed and TV were fine. Only light blankets, but was a hot summer weekend of 90+ degrees. AC worked great. Plenty of space in the rooms. We had a two bedroom suite. And each room had its own TV, bathroom, and there was even a nice couch. Only one exit. Perfect for children. Not many extras. No continental breakfast, water bottles in the room, or menus from nearby restaurants. Very basic. There was a soda machine. Pool itself was a 60's teardrop pool, and was clean and serviceable, but the pool area was poorly maintained. Old, broken furniture, a few broken tiles. Hot tub was offline and empty. No food or shopping in walking distance."

"We had a fun stay at the Julian Lodge. We had to pay $10 to park in their lot or park on the side streets for free. This lodge is clean and has filtered water available to fill your travel bottle with. They have coffee too. We stayed in room 202. It was a nice room. The staff is amazing and so accommodating! This lodge is also walking distance to all of the shops on Main Street! It had a great air conditioner in our room. We loved this place and would totally return! Thank you! We also loved the apple pie at Apple Alley Bakery. So yummy! Also make sure you do the city scavenger hunt at the town hall if you have kiddos! It was so fun! ♥️"

"After a power outage the day before due to a fire in the area, the power outlets for charging was extremely slow or not working at all. Clocks hadn't been reset either, but not a huge deal breaker. No hand bars for tub or some grip on surface of tub would be a needed improvement for the older guests. Overall it was a wonderful experience."

"The staff communicated regularly before and during our stay. The Hill House was very clean. We had all amenities needed. Staff brought a breakfast basket with snacks and coffee every morning. The property was clean and quiet, but close to the town of Julian, CA. I highly recommend Orchard Hill."
