"This place is rated a 5 star resort. It is definitely not! Resort is beautiful with pristine beach with turquoise clear water and very vibey and youthful restaurants and bars. But staff are not 5 star standard. The staff are not helpful and if you ask for assistance they seem bothered. This included waiters, bartenders and beach staff. "The Amare Hotel was our favorite stay of our 2-week trip. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast that is included was delicious and had a wide variety. We had 2 dinners at the hotel and they were also excellent. We would book again without hesitation."

"Stunning hotel! Definitely a splurge but totally worth it for the view and breakfast and the beautiful room. The late night terrace area is a vibe. My only note is that the hotel charged me again even after I paid via hotels.com (they claimed that I hadn't paid yet), and it was a bit of a hassle to get the refund, but I eventually got it so it all worked out in the end."

"Very nice resort in a developing area. The room is big, with a nice balcony facing the pool. The hotel has a small gym with dumbbells and a couple of machines, it works for some basic workout. The beach is beautiful, and breakfast is included. The AC wasn’t working properly in the lobby, and the room was not cold enough to my personal preference, but we had a beautiful stay anyway. The staff in the reception were very welcoming and helpful."

"Excellent location for exploring the Gjirokastër bazaar — right in the heart of it all. Arriving close to midnight made parking a bit tricky to find at first, but once we explored the bazaar the next day we discovered a convenient parking deck nearby with shortcuts that made getting to and from the hotel with our bags easy. Our room had stunning views of the mountains, the castle, and the city below — an unforgettable setting. Highly recommend!"
