The Scottsdale Resort and Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton
8/10 Good
"The property is very nice - however the bar area was understaffed and was impossible to get a drink in a timely manner - also on Saturday the pool around 12 noon turned into a night club - was a bit inappropriate for families with children- they must offer a day pass at the pool"
"Friendly checkin , helped me get into a better upgraded room early, there was a charge. No free upgrades at this hotel. Did ask for a late check out with a $50 charge , I declined. The room was really clean and smelled good and furniture seemed new. Customer service was great all around. Water park was fun ! The only real disapointment was the jacuzzis at 2 seperate locations at Sedona upper and lower were broken and pool for Sedona lower was very dirty. We just went to Camelback building and it was fine. Overall a great experience I’ve come here many times over 20yrs and it’s been great and I would highly recommend . I just wish prices for drinks and food were a little more affordable . A tray of French fries cosing between $13-$19 is way too expensive! "
"My room key often didn't work and I was told that was true of all the rooms because it was an old building. It was very basic accommodations and priced accordingly. I didn't need or want a lot of frills. I got what I wanted but could have used a little more reliable door lock."
"This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had in a long time. Aside from the bedding being clean and for the most part, comfortable, the rest of the room was terrible. Got the room specifically for the jetted tub, which aside from the drain not even holding water, there was also a small hole in the tub that caused the water to leak into the room and soak the carpet. The room also had a shower, in which the shower head would not lock into place and would spin around spraying water everywhere when turned on. The curtain for this shower was also about 8” short, so any water sprayed in the shower went directly onto the floor in the bathroom.
There were several walls that had peeling laminate or whatever other material from all the water damage and you can actually see the mildew in the wall. There were tiles that had been broken in the past and literally screwed back into place. No remotes for either tv. This was all in the second room we switched to after the first room had an extremely strong smell of weed in. The only reason I did not cancel the stay altogether was because I had been traveling across country all day and I was too exhausted to go find another hotel that late in the evening.
Do not stay here, you will be disappointed. I’ve stayed at nicer motel 6’s in the middle of nowhere when road tripping."
