I’m giving this place 5 stars mainly for the beautiful location and calm atmosphere. The room I got was a bit older and could use a few updates, but everything felt generally clean, no unpleasant smells, just a little dust here and there. What really makes Sands on Golden Lake special is the view, absolutely magnificent in the early morning, and at night the sky is filled with stars and even a glimpse of the Milky Way since it’s tucked away in the quiet countryside. It’s a beautiful spot for anyone who wants to relax, disconnect, and enjoy nature’s beauty.

Or stay at the Sands was absolutely excellent every room has a view of the water the room was clean and was comfortable every room has a balcony so you can sit outside covered as well and Overlook the water very peaceful already planning our next stay

A cute hotel on Golden Lake with views from the room. Low pressure on the washroom taps and seemingly not a lot of hot water for a shower Exhaust fan in room needed some cleaning.

We arrived after sunset and left around s foggy dawn, so we didn't get to see much of the lake view. But the room was very nice; wedstay there again. Our only disappointment was that breakfast wasn't available until 8, and we needed to be on the road before then.

Don’t be fooled by the website.

Stopped for one night. Definitely would not recommend. Dirty, not very friendly staff at the check in nice lady on duty in the morning. Breakfast was an experience, muffin, banana, coffee out of a dirty coffee pot and a limited choice of cereal out of 3 old beaten boxes, actually looked like the breakfast was put together from what they could find in the owners kitchen cupboards, this did give us a chuckle though as never seen anything like it. Biggest complaint is how dirty the place is. Clean bedding and towels but everything else was dirty, old and tired. Great view of the lake and nice (misleading) website.

Lovely secluded hotel and location by the Lake

We had a nice large room with a whirlpool bathtub and view of the lake. The hosts were very friendly. There is a breakfast offered but we just happened to have made other arrangements during our stay. There is a well equipped gym in the building across the road from the hotel.
