"The hotel is a converted mansion that was built in 1830 and expanded and artfully adjusted since. The decor is lush and elegant. Everything works somehow. My room had a very comfortable king sized platform bed, a wet bar with coffee maker, and a large bathroom with a fabulous shower. "We liked this hotel a lot. We appreciated that it was close to the French Quarter, but also a little removed and quieter. Our AC went out, but the staff quickly had us move to another room where it was working. Very cool building and a great experience!"

"The hotel was quintessential NOLA..small intimate full of character being an older space. The hotel being aged does not mean it has to smell awful. Since they have no air conditioning it was very damp and hot and smelled like mold and mildew. The rooms also only had a small window unit which did not really cool the room in the summer heat. The attached bar was also hot and smelled bad. Staff was very kind is the only good thing I can say about this hotel."
