"We arrived on a later flight and there was a shuttle waiting to take us to the lodge (about a 5 min drive and check in was super eady). Our room was the separate casita on the property and close to a large communal outdoor kitchen that appeared to be fully stocked with coffee and tea for the morning. Staff were very friendly with fresh fruit and lei's on arrival. They offered to take us back to the airport the next morning to pick up our rental car, but we realized how close it was (15-18 min downhill) that we ended up walking."
"This hotel is amazing!! The views, food, staff, check in process, rooms and pools are fantastic. This was the first hotel we stayed in as apart of our honeymoon and we were overjoyed at how perfect everything was. From the cocktails at sunset to the shower room available to use before and after your room is ready, everything has been perfected. We can’t wait to return!"
"There were lots of table set up in the breakfast area and they wouldn’t let us use them to play cards. It was after breakfast service so there was absolutely no reason to not use them. "
"Everything was exactly as I expected which was wonderful! The staff were exceptionally helpful with taxi rides, pre flight shower, food recommendations and things to see and do!!!!"
"Clean and very spacious hotel. Staff are mostly friendly and quite lovely except for the receptionist at one point. Very rude. I had stored my bags with the front desk while waiting for my transport and when I went to pick this up she handled the situation very rudely and unprofessionally in the way she spoke to me. Not only did she leave it to the last minute until the transport arrived but she couldn’t find the keys to open the store room and was attending to others while I was waiting. Apart from that all other staff are mostly friendly and amenities are well maintained except for the fountain by the lobby. Not cleaned or filtered."
"Smaller resort, which was actually nice b/c it is more relaxing. Gorgeous pool area. We stayed in an over-water bungalow, which was spacious and lovely. The only complaint I would say is it would have been nice to have a chair. Like just a regular chair to sit in. There wasn't one in the room or on the deck (only lounge chairs). Got a free bottle of sparkling wine delivered to our room, which was a nice surprise.
Food was outrageously expensive, which I expected, but what I did not expect is that every meal we had there was terrible. I mean borderline inedible bad. It was either unappetizing or completely flavorless. Breakfast was $50 for the buffet and it was limited and not good. I was going to try the pizza until I saw someone put their room service tray outside their bungalow with only one piece gone from 2 whole pizzas! So, it must have been bad. Drinks were fine.
We ended up eating at the restaurant across the street from the resort one night and it was fantastic. Highly recommend that (Manuia Grill). "Town" is about a 5 min walk and there are some nice shops there and some additional restaurants. There is a breakfast/lunch place that I would definitely recommend over spending $50pp at the resort.
Having some shops and restaurants walking distance was a nice bonus as some resorts you are basically captive b/c there is no place to go without a car/taxi.
I would definitely stay here again, I just wouldn't eat at the resort."
"We booked a quick stop just to shower and cool off in the air conditioning between our ferry ride from Mo’orea and our red eye flight out of Tahiti. Thank goodness we didn’t have to stay the night!
First off, Expedia mentioned that there was a free shuttle to the airport but when we got there the lady said there was no such thing and we would need to call a cab. We wouldn’t have booked at this hotel if there was no shuttle (misleading information by either Expedia or the hotel).
We were hot and sticky and just wanted to get to our room so did not observe the lobby closely upon arrival. However, when we left we stood in the lobby and observed while waiting for our cab. Every lounger/couch cushion was worn to the point where the leather was separating. So we did not want to sit. While standing and waiting for our taxi, we looked up to see that the ceiling tiles were missing all over. Part of the ceiling was peeling down. You could see that at one time this hotel may have been nice.
The room was not much better. There was an empty soap/shampoo container left in the corner of the shower stall and the tiles had not looked like they were cleaned for a very long time (grime in all four corners). The towels were yellow with stains/spots so we did not feel very clean. This place needs a re-do!! Obviously I was concerned by the ratings but we thought it would be okay to at least take a shower and cool off. I didn’t even want to sit on the bed."
"Excellent view, Beautiful black sand beach had quite a bit of trash on it, Food was ok, pool definitely needs repair but was functional, Faucet in bathroom was completely loose from the sink the flush button on the toilet was broken
Lots of chickens crowing very early in the am There was a used condom in the couch. Staff was friendly
Over all I would not recommend staying here until upgrades are made. The property appears underfunded for repairs and maintenance"
"These were not cabins they were extremely small rooms with shared bathrooms. Felt like staying in a hostel. The hotel was very gray, nothing bright or welcoming like you might expect in Tahiti. The staff was very nice and helpful. But read carefully before you book."
Hostels are a great way to stay for a good value, so you can save your money for going out. You can enjoy activities like shopping, and the island views create an appealing natural setting.
