"This is a lovely hotel built in the style of a Greek village going down a hill to the sea. Our room was modern with a lovely sea view. The buffet breakfast and evening buffet meal in the main restaurant were very good as were the other restaurants. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to make out stay enjoyable."

There were numerous activites at the resort and a convenient bus to the beach area. Beach Comber at Stallis beach was beautiful, relatively quiet, served excellent cocktails and amazing food. My only critics of Village Heights were: 1. What is/is not included in half board is not well explained at time of booking - I only found out this information on day 2. 2. The power cut out multiple times daily. Only for a few seconds, so it never caused an issue, but it was slightly worrying. 3. The sign at the cats feeding station states they are neutered, but they are not; kittens ahoy! "

"We loved our stay (August 2025) at the Royal And Imperial Belvedere hotel. Our room was great, newly decorated and spotlessly clean. The main dining area is really big and being able to sit outside meant you didn't feel like you were going to the same restaurant for every meal! Lots of fresh food options, the grill and the salad bars were excellent. The causal dining options were also great with a range of family friendly food available. Having a separate bar area from the entertainment means you can choose a more peaceful spot in the evening, or get involved in the fun. The pools are fab - a 50 metre pool on holiday! Even when it was busy it didn't feel busy. Plenty of sunbeds available around the pools or on the peaceful sun terrace. Theres not a lot to walk to nearby and the local beaches are taken up by sunbeds from the bars, but we'd recommend a walk into Koutouloufari for a look round the shops or a drink in the evening."

Prior to our visit, i messaged the hotel to pre-arrange some flowers etc, They provided many options depending on the budget. "Stayed as a family of 4 for 9 days in mid August 2025, 2 adults and 2 children. Positives: Remote hill top location in Old Town Malia (10/10). Villas with private 10m to 15m length pools (10/10). Overall the teams were very helpful and did their best to support. Amazing views of Malia from your balcony from the hill top location (10/10). Notable mentions; Alexia at the front desk, New lady in the restaurant from Romania, Male supervisor / manager who helped us after we got locked out of the villa with 2 keys at night. Private pool chemical level being checked. Met the new owner at dinner whilst the teams were stressfully trying to work out our bill for a new menu and he said he his aware of what they need to improve on and service is not were he wants it to be. Negatives: Attention to detail I.e. 1 bed was missing its top cover for the first 3 nights. Very easy to lock yourself out of the villa because of the safety feature on the doors. Service in the restaurant needs to be improved / missed opportunity from the hotel due to isolated location. Catering options are very limited / Menu cards are confusing / Not clear what you have ordered and what you are paying for. Nightly disturbances from staffing quarters into the early morning (stayed in villa 407). No locks on the bathroom or toilet doors. Hot water in the tap & shower is extremely boiling hot. Toilet / Shower room on the lower floor in the 2 bedroom villas should have a solid divider as water gets everywhere."
