"It’s an older, dated hotel that kept its charm. Room was a nice size & clean. A fantastic breakfast was included and having a restaurant & bar on property was nice. Bed was the most comfortable but room was a great size, quiet & clean. Staff was nice. Wish it had a hot tub with the pool but that’s ok. Really great value!"

"Had issues with the shower/bath nozzle staying in place and the water temperature kept fluctuating. I was unable to take a proper shower after a long day of traveling."

"While, the lodge is charming, our room was freezing. We had the fireplace and heat as high as it would go. the room never got above 60. There was no blanket on our bed and no blankets were available in our room. The desk was unmanned after 11 and phone messages were unanswered. Hopefully, this issue has been corrected. "

"The rooms were dirty with stains on everything, the showers were ice cold, for only a 10 hour stay it was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at"

"We were pleasantly surprised by our room. The floors were clean. The bed was clean. Everything smelled good even in the hallway. There were no noisy neighbors and the balcony overlooking the water was peaceful and beautiful. We loved getting visits from the geese and the beautiful swan. I would absolutely stay there again."

"Only thing lacking in La Porte near the Blue Heron was EV chargers. Had a wonderful event at the Civic Center and will look forward to a stay during warm weather."

"Staff was super nice and easily accessible. Our only concern we expressed to them was our bathroom. Although it seemed to clean, there were some mold issues that could just use some bleach to kill it. It’s in a lit area comfortable area. I will use this location again."

"This Hotel is completely adequate. It’s definitely not the Hyatt but good bang for your buck. Not many breakfast options but I’m not much of a breakfast eater so the yogurt they had was fine with me. They also had fruit, rolls,coffee and tea. Staff( Cindy) was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again. "

"This was the second most best up place I’ve ever stayed at in the USA. No elevator and no rooms available on the first floor so my back hurts from carrying my super heavy suitcase up the stairs. It barely passed the test as somewhere I would sleep as it had clean sheets and most things appeared to be wiped down, but the floors (although uncarpeted which I greatly prefer as it avoids terrible odors etc)were pretty nasty with all kinds of smudges, scrapes, goobery stuff, the walls were...

"Currently under construction, so not all amenities are available at the current moment, but this hotel is great for if you just need a safe affordable place to sleep. Massive sturdy building. Probably a great place to be if there was a tornado. Every staff person i have encountered was very kind and helpful. Would recommended to anyone traveling on a budget. Good value for the price. "
