"We wanted a relaxing and peaceful holiday with a pool and view and good service. This hotel didn’t disappoint us. There are only six rooms so the service was personal and exceptional. The hotel is located at the quieter end of the Hikkadawa stretch of beach which suited us. The livelier bars and hotels were only a short walk away too. "Лучшее место, где мы останавливались в Хиккадуве. Отель чистый, новый, бассейн всегда убирают. Завтраки не разнообразные, но вкусные. Кормят - не жалеют) Из окна на втором этаже вид на океан и прекрасные закаты. Номера просторные с кондиционером и вентилятором на потолке над кроватью. Очень теплый прием, помогали во всех вопросах, добродушный персонал. Хотели уехать в другой отель, но лучше места не нашли, с удовольствием вернулись как домой)"

"We took the train from Colombo to Hikkaduwa, and then took a tuk-tuk to our hotel. The taxi only cost 300 Rupees, but if you're feeling adventurous it can be walked on either the road or along the beach in under an hour. The hotel is small with only 4 rooms, but is perfect for someone looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. It is located at the end of Hikkaduwa beach, so there are not many people around. "The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake. "

"It's an old hotel. 50 yrs. So it's tired and needs a refurbish. Rooms are OK, but bathroom leaks water from the shower leaving puddles of water in the bathroom. Could smell urine in room 205 when using the shower so probably linked to the drainage system. Pool needs redone as several broken tiles and there were 3 people I saw who cut themselves including a member of staff and my daughter. "Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Staff were really really nice and helpful!! Very pleasant to talk to!! Modern and clean!! Small balcony! Very central on the Main Street! About 10 minutes walk to beach! Only downside is that there is no bar! In saying that there are plenty of places nearby that have beer! Breakfast was excellent!! Would definitely stay here again "
