"We had an incredible time at Monte da Vilharinha. Driving into the property is like something out of a movie. The rural landscape boasts quintessential while buildings, herds of cows with bells, fields of flowers and streams. When we arrived we were greeted by Jafer and the property dog cookie. Jafer was the most incredible host guiding us around the property, letting us know where to take the (free) bikes and available to answer any questions via WhatsApp at any time. "Although well located, our unit needed a fair amount of TLC. in particular, the sofas were very dirty. As for the beds, the mattress needed a full replacement. I had to sleep on the couch in order not to feel pain from my back. As for the service, we had a good experience with the restaurant personnel as well as the purser. But the reception employee provided a sub par service. A final word, this resort has not the structure for individuals having a mobility impairment. "

"Loved the location and grounds, doing some work on property, some of cabanas and gazebos needed work. Great path to cliffs, and pathways great. Breakfast was great, lots of selection. Pools looked lovely. Part of facility ran out of water our 2nd night and part of next day, no coffee etc at breakfast or shower access. It did come back, but we were checking out. Loved the authentic feeling of it."

"I drove up to the beach and saw this hotel. Its in an absolute perfect location. I first booked 1 night and booked 2 more after. A few restaurants around, plenty of parking. John at the front desk was great! I would stay in this hotel again."

"Beautiful resort with amazing views, very clean property and rooms, access to a steam room, sauna, indoor pool and jacuzzi in hammam style area, staff was amazing and very helpful and very caring. Highly recommend to any wanting a relaxing stay. Buffet breakfast had vast arrangements of fruits and choices and pastries and was healthy. All rooms have balconies and look towards the ocean. Resort is walkable to many restaurants, the beach, and bus stops."

"After a difficult start trying to find my villa on a cold rainy night because of the useless map given out at check-in, number 407 proved spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette well stocked and easy to use. The cleaning and support staff were all friendly. Breakfast when ordered was generous and good and it was a delight to be given fresh bread on the first morning. "I booked a double room, and it was spacious and clean. The location is good - close to a supermarket and restaurant choices although a walk from the old town. Good for a stay if you're hiking the Fisherman's Trail although the luke warm shower wasn't all that "

"Lovely resort in a modern design and a unique spot close to the beach. We stayed in a partial view double room and had amazing views, and housekeeping left a small treat each night at the turn down service which was a really nice touch. The breakfast was really lovely and worth adding on. The pools could have been kept a little warmer (we were there in the last week of Apr). "Unfortunately we seem to have been given the worst unit despite all the others being empty! No heater, broken shower head, shower draining too slowly to cope with the flow, table dangerously unstable, toilet consistently running, bench sofas which weren’t comfortable at all. "
