I recently stayed at The Santa Maria Hotel in Panama and overall had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable, the amenities were excellent, and the service throughout most of the hotel was friendly and attentive.
The highlight of our stay was the steakhouse. The food quality was absolutely amazing — truly one of the best meals we had in the entire city. The flavors, presentation, and service were all exceptional, and it’s definitely a restaurant I would return to even if I weren’t staying at the hotel.
The only area that needs improvement is the breakfast restaurant. While the food was good, the ladies working there consistently appeared unhappy and not very welcoming. A bit more warmth and hospitality would elevate the experience, especially in such a high-end hotel.
Other than that, everything else was great, and I would still recommend the hotel. With some improvement to the breakfast service, this could easily become a perfect 5-star stay.
