While I haven’t racked up an impressive passport of hotel stays, I have somehow developed a special talent for picking the wrong ones. I’m talking five-star disasters with leaky showers and “ocean views” that require a periscope. So believe me when I say: Sands Hotel completely broke my losing streak—in the best way possible.
From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had accidentally wandered into a parallel universe where hotel staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and somehow psychic. I kept waiting for someone to break character—but nope, every single person I encountered was warm, friendly, and sincerely helpful. It was like the Twilight Zone, but instead of eerie music and existential dread, it came with smiles and great customer service.
I brought a friend for her birthday, and the entire experience felt special from the jump. The rooms were spotless, peaceful, and gave off serious “go ahead and exhale” energy. The property itself is beautifully maintained—stylish, serene, and somehow both luxurious and laid-back at the same time. It’s basically what my nervous system imagines when someone says “relax.”
Long story short: I didn’t want to leave. (In fact, I briefly considered hiding in the closet and applying for a job at the front desk.) I’m incredibly grateful to the team at Sands for restoring my faith in hospitality. 10 out of 10? Try 100,000 out of 10
