"This is a huge hotel that has a lot going for it, but go in with accurate expectations. It is really dated. Carpet is old, stained in places, and just tired looking. Wallpaper was ripped or scratched in a few places in our room. The bathroom had ceiling (sheetrock) paper that was cracked. Lighting felt dim overall. There were not nearly enough available outlets. Despite being old and not particularly well maintained, it still felt reasonably clean.
It's location near Missouri State Campus was helpful for us. The low price was probably the biggest sell to us however it does not come with a continental breakfast AND an additional $10/day parking fee that was never mentioned on the website, by the front desk, or when I booked with Hotels.com.
My kids liked the pools (one indoor and one outdoor). The staff was helpful when we needed to ask about something."
