Staying at ‘The Residence’ was convenient and comfortable. It was in close proximity to be Canadian Tire Centre, where the college held its graduation ceremony. As well, it’s walking distance to stores and restaurants.
The room itself was two bedrooms with a kitchenette and washroom that had a standup shower. Towels, soap, shampoo, and bed linens were provided. Each room had a double bed, which was comfortable, and clean. Each room also had an open closet where you can hang stuff, and a desk with a bank of drawers where you could put clothes if you choose.
The kitchenette had a full size fridge, microwave, and sink. No kitchen supplies, plates, cups, cutlery, etc. was provided. So pack your paper plates, napkins, and anything else you think you will need!
There is no living room or TV, but it was not necessary for our stay. For those staying more than one night, you may want to bring your tablet and download a couple movies. ;-) Wi-Fi is also available here.
Our only complaint is the parking situation. Though it was close, there was no designated wheelchair accessible parking (which we required). And it was a distance to carry all of our luggage. It’s not typical for your usual hotel, though I recognize this is not a “hotel”.
All in all, it was a good experience! I’d recommend it for families of students, or anyone who has business in the local area.
