"I just needed a simple place to stop and get some sleep, and this fit the bill. The registration staff were excellent—they were totally prepared for my arrival, and check-in was a breeze with zero issues. The bed was comfortable, and the AC was already cranking at a chilly 59 degrees when I walked in, which was great. "This hotel was like stepping into the past! It at one time was VERY GRAND and currently is now located in a very depressed area of Topeka. The State Capitol! It was very sad and depressing to see the current situation of this hotel. The breakfast buffet in the morning inside the atrium was lovely and attended by staff. No problems encountered except sadness for the current condition of this area likely due to economics."

"This is a budget friendly hotel. It is clean and the included breakfast is excellent. The wi-fi has variable connectivity and although the staff tried their best they admitted there is no IT staff to fix it."

"Nicely decorated room but it smelled so musty and upon checking in our room, we found hair on the bathroom counter. It was remedied immediately. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the performing arts center. Street parking is free."
