This is an older hotel. The staff was helpful and the price is good. It's not the Ritz but, it has the basics for a night or two.
Worst hotel I have ever experienced
Should have been torn down.

The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The hotel needs some TLC and upgrades. A fresh coat of paint and some deep cleaning would help alot. If you have trouble sleeping with noise this isn’t the place for you. The staff was pleasant but the customers were sketchy.

Why we cancelled our stay.
We did not stay. We could tell that drug activity was happening. The building was rundown, and did not look safe. The room that we looked at did not look clean.
This was the absolute worse motel we have ever stayed at! We arrived at 1:30 am and there were people sitting on the stairs which we had to sue to get to our room. At the room, the inside ac unit was disgustingly dirty. There was paint peeled on the floor. The room had an awful odor. We were there a total of 5 minutes and left. I could not stay in such a disgusting motel! The lady at check in was rude as well. This motel should not be on your list of places to stay. It looked like a drug motel. People walking down the street, yelling at themselves. We only went there because it was the only motel with availability. It was awful!!
The room had occasional German roaches and other insects periodical throughout the 15 hours I was there. Blackout curtain not fitted properly. A/C unit very weak. No toiletries provided. Smallest motel soap I’ve ever seen. This American Inn appears now to house a number of individuals and families as long term residents, with many hanging outside the rooms and in the parking during all but the wee hours, lots of loud talking, loud vehicles coming and going, candy and drink trash on external stairways, requests to give money (“Hey, gimme a dollar.”). Sadly, the place seems to be on a clear down curve.
I would NEVER stay here again. The city needs to shut this place down. I am a head housekeeper and i would never rent a room like this. Everything is broke beds are soooo dirty with hair dirty body stains on sheets. I asked for clean sheets and instead of just giving me the sheets the guy acted like he didnt see the dirt so we start pulling the bed sheets back it was a period stain on the sheets. Also we had to use our shirts as pilliow cases. The towels was so dirty you can tell they havent been wash since the last 7 guest before us. The other guest will keep you up all night. I will definitely be giving OSHA a call about this place. Cause there is noway this place should still be in business. I would NEVER recommend for anybody to stay here. There is so much more pictures will be posted
Worst staying experience ever. In the first room it had Linen/Sheets that had holes from cigarette burns and stains. Stains on the floor that still looked wet, the box spring had water stains all around it, missing or blown light bulbs in two lamps, curtain would pull open for one end as you pull the other end closed, the extra security latch on the door was loose, no working phone, wash cloths were dingy and towel rack was loose from the wall (pics provided). Received two clean sets of linen/sheets but they looked worst than the set that was on the bed. The Desk Clerk moved us to another room. That room the refrigerator was not working and had mildew, the Smoke Detector was not mounted but stored in a drawer, two microwaves stacked on top of each other and two televisions. Thank God at least one of each did work.Missing light bulbs (2), no working phone. At least the linen/sheets and washcloths looked a little cleaner than the first room, the curtain closed all the way, the door security latched worked properly and the guy at the front desk was nice. Those are the only good things I can say about the place. I canceled the reservation I had made for the following weekend. Chose to drive 35 miles to a cleaner available hotel than to stay in those conditions again.
Room not available after paying non-refundable fee
We got to the hotel about midnight after booking a non-refundable rate of $66 from 5 miles away. The lady that was the front desk/office clerk just came to a little slot in a window beside the locked doors and told me "we have no more room" and refused to check us in. The motel appeared quite sketchy, but we needed sleep. To say we were disappointed in them and the Hotels.com booking error would be an extreme understatement.
I didn’t even check in. I was propositioned by a hooker, asked how much stuff I had in my car by a guy peering through my car windows, and two parties were happening with music blasting and people outside. It was a Thursday at 10:30 PM
Didn’t stay as they didn't have my reservation in the system. the rooms smelled bad and there was people loitering around the property. Very uncomfortable.
On arrival Friday about 7:30 PM, there was a sign on the office door saying to ring a bell for service. Through the darkened glass door I saw a female who gestured and pointed to my right. There was a window that was entrely blocked by wood or metal except for an opening no bigger than 6"x6" through which she asked if she could help. I told her we had a reservation and she asked for a drivers' license to confime the name. After several minutes she returned with a slip of paper for me to sign and gave me a key to Room 205, which was upstairs (no elevator). I asked for a first floor froom and was told there were none availabe. During these minutes I noticed a number of people miling about the exterior corridors of the hotel (more like a motel). Without being prejudicial, they seemed like an unsavory lot. My wife and I then grabbed our overnight bags from a fully packed SUV and started to head for the outside stairs. An elderly gentleman stuck his head out from a first floor room right where we had parked. He advised we should probably take ALL of our belongings out of our car for the night; otherwise it was likely to be broken into and our property stolen. Given the entirety of these circumstances we put our bags back in the car and left -- not ever going to the room or staying for the night. We had to find another hotel as it was becoming dusk. After driving several miles (the American Inn was not at all close to the interstate highway, we found another hotel in which to stay.
I booked online it said 2 rooms were left got there the lady said she had nomore rooms available it was after 3 am so we told her we booked one and had nowhere to go…she said hold on and gave us a room she said had no heat and she wouldn’t charge us but turns out it had heat but the unit was broken there was no soap tissue etc the bed had cigarette burns in the sheets the room had a terrible old mildew smell it was a horrible experience and I was lied to about not being charged $62
First night our room was filthy. No heat. Couldn't close curtains all the way. Moldy drink from McDonald's in fridge, Dirty microwave. Smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Was offered a better room next day, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. This was a learning experience. You get what you pay for.
