Nice traditional hotel with character

This is a nice hotel, well located for a stroll along the seafront and nearby restaurants. The hotel is rather dated but not in a dire way, adding character to its rooms and nice balconies. The lift can be crammed in the morning so this is worth planning for as you exit, particularly as we did with a large tourist group trying to exit at the same time.

The staff at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. But there were hardly any teaspoons available (the receptionist told us that tourists just steal them) and the scrambles eggs, the bacon and the coffee were only lukewarm.

Nice stay very clean hotel and the staff was great. I would have been 5 stars but our room was on the 1st floor above the ceiling speakers for the lobby music and dinning room that finally stoped at 4:30 am. Started again at 6:30. I’m sure someone just screwed up but it sounded like a muted party going on down stairs all night. More pillows would also be nice

Awesome staff, wonderful location, clean hotel and great food for breakfast and dinner as well. Several beaches are on a walkable distance from this hotel. We were amazed by all their staff, they went above and beyond to help us and recommend anything that we were interested to try. Special thanks to Ana, Luka and Bojan from the hotel reception. Our room was clean and comfortable, the location was great and pay parking lot behind hotel was convenient but a bit expensive. The area has many local attractions within walking distance, and areas to swim. As well as coffee, restaurants and bars. The bar at the hotel was a nice amenity, we enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings. Two things that we missed in our room was having an iron in the room, and access to ice.

Good location but beware of parking difficulty

Bristol is in a good location. Easy walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable and wifi excellent. The included breakfast, while not exciting, has variety (cereal, hot dishes, cold cheese/ham, fruit, cakes) and is frequently replenished. Parking was an issue. The description of the Bristol on the hotels.com site states “Uncovered on-site self-parking (EUR 20 per day)”. As other travellers have experienced, we were told on arrival that no parking via the hotel was available and that we would have to find a spot on the street at a likely cost of 25 euro per day. Luckily, we found a spot on the road above the hotel (Ul. Drage Gervaisa) where we could park for 24 hours for 17 euro. Note that the parking meter does not accept credit cards and doesn’t give change so you need the exact money in notes/coins.

The situation is really good, next to the major attractions in the city. The room ordered had to be with a sea view but in fact had only a lateral one, I request for a double bed and received a double single beds. There was no air conditioning , it was the major problem because the temperature was really warm with on top of that the fridge who provides extra heating in the room. When I asked the reception they told me that the stopped the air conditioning because it was autumn. In this case don’t write in your réservation that there is an air co or mention it is only in the summer period All the employees are really devoted for their guests : a real positive point , Thks for that !

Great location in the heart of Opatija. The hotel has old world style and is reasonably priced. Room was large and a/c functioned well. There was a nice buffet dinner at good price, plus the excellent breakfast served in the ball room.

This hotel is stunning, inside and out. When we arrived way earlier than the checkin time, a very nice staff member organised a room so we can get in earlier. This was important to us as we travelled all night. Rooms are stunning and the lobby and the breakfast room are so beautiful. Right in a heart of the town. Will come back again.

Excellent location. A short walk with rolly bag up the hill on upside of the Main Street. Excellent breakfast food. Tasty and hot eggs, various fruit, nice assortment of buns. Good hot coffee and cold juices. Lovely all around. Right across from Angelino park. Thank you!
