Very small hotel and very strange rooms layout. No elevators so walking up and down 3 sets of stairs gets tiring. Location far from city center and no access to beach, is it a resort or a hideaway? No live activities, no bar, no restaurants nearby or lounges, pure dead even I was there at the summer peak. I was given a room of lower category of what I booked on Expedia but as I insisted on them they gave me the room I wanted. Staff are fresh young and inexperienced. I was asked if I could be offered a coffee thinking they were being nice and offering courtesy service but they charged me for the coffee on check out. I had an issue of mistaken date of arrival and Expedia tried to call me and I talked to them by phone but they would never listen or support Expedia to correct this mistake. They just levied penalty charges although the hotels was empty.

This entire La Gionconda Hotel experience was BEYOND EXCELLENT! What a wonderful experience to have stayed there with the beautiful property, the great service and attention to detail, and the great cuisine. There is no question as to where we will be staying the next time we return.

Gut geführtes Hotel

Das ist ein wirklich ausgezeichnet geführtes Hotel. Das Personal ist perfekt. Es liegt allerdings nicht im Zentrum, so dass man entweder eine halbe Stunde ins Zentrum laufen muss oder sich ein Taxi nimmt. Es liegt oberhalb des Meeres mit einem wunderbarem Blick. Allerdings muss man zum Meer auch etwa 10 Minuten Treppen herunter laufen.

Great hotel for a quiet get-away. Nice big rooms, good service and the food was absolute superb. Pool a little small and the hotel is 15min by taxi from the busiest parts but if you wanna have a great weekend get away with someone special I highly recommend this place.

Nice hotel but poor service with staff not trained

This was a lovely looking hotel near the beach. I had a nice room which was kept well cleaned by housekeeping. However, tourists beware: the hot buffet bar for breakfast was more accustomed to the old soviet style of sausages, potatoes and vegetables. If you wanted bacon and scramble eggs, then you had to pay. Every morning, my coffee would arrive after I had finished my breakfast. There was no complimentary water in the room after the first day. Despite it being over 25C outside, I was advised that I would have to buy the water from the mini bar if I wanted some. The hotel messed up on my bill and gave my colleague a discount for a further visit even though I paid the bills. The staff did not seem to be well trained especially in relation to the restaurant. I have no idea who the Manager or Owner of the hotel is or was as they never made the effort to make contact with me despite me paying a significant amount of money for my stay.

מלון בוטיק נהדר

רמת השירות היא בין הטובות שניתקלתי , כל בעיה ניפתרה וכל בקשה נענתה במקסימום איכפתיות. מלון בוטיק קטן ואינטימי מעוצב ויפה עם מסעדה טובה שפתוחה בשבילך 24 שעות. בריכה קטנה + אין מעלית במלון ויש בו 4 חצאי קומות (לא קשה) אבל מי שצריך נגישות כגון נכה או קשיש ימצא בבעיה. הבעיה היחידה ,שלנו לא הפריעה אלא להיפך ,היא שיש מצב שיש אירועים כמו חתונה במקרה שלנו (צנועה מאוד במימדים ישראלים) בחצר המלון,לכן יש מצב לרעש מעבר לסביר למי שחיפש פינה שקטה לכל השהות.

On the Black Sea

Its great. You walk down the stairs that go forever to the shore of the Black Sea and you can walk or jog for miles along the Black Sea. It was cold, about 35 degrees F in the morning. But it was all good. You can go up to the main street nearby in a 5 minute walk and there are great restaurants and "producti" stores for whatever you need.

Nice, clean, comfortable stay, good food as well.

Was a little tricky to find but very nice small hotel with excellent service throughout. Restaurant is open late with a good menu and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good with a lot of selection. Everyone had pretty good English speaking skills as well. Room was pretty big, clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

Замечательный, именно БУТИК отель. Отличные номера, не большая, но очень ухоженная и красивая территория с чудесным видом на море. Особенно хочу отметить персонал отеля и ресторана. Обслуживание замечательное, завтраки очень вкусные и разнообразные. Отличный ресторан. До пляжа 210 ступенек, но это не утомительно и хорошая зарядка. Приятно гулять по парку.

Small, quiet (most of the time) and pleasant

The room provided was at the back of the property overlooking the parking lot, however, it was a nice room overall. Only a few things that were not great. I found a broken piece of the chandelier under the bottom sheet of the bed, not sure how that got there but it was not a good thing. Bed was comfortable but two small comforters not one large one which would have been better. Two bottles of water for a 4 night stay were never replaced. Since the tap water in Odessa is not drinkable it required drinking the water in the mini bar. The safe in the room is not big enough for a computer. Our room was above some part of the service area of the hotel that had a swinging door. This could be heard from early morning till late night. Not very romantic. Having said all that, I will say that the grounds are nicely kept, room is reasonably comfortable, and the service is very good. Nearly all the staff speaks english very well and those that don't are actually apologetic about it. I would say that the breakfast was good, however our dinner was not the best. Wine was good cheese plate very nice but the main courses were not as good as I would have expected. Service was excellent.

Relaxing by the Black Sea

The hotel shuttle was waiting for me at the hotel when I arrived. The staff spoke English carried my bags up four flights of stairs as there is no lift. Room was great food was wonderful and atmosphere awesome. Sea views from my room and lounge area. I had an early flight out they had a taxi waiting for me. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone looking for a romantic getaway by the sea.

Beautiful view of sea

I had a lovely stay at La Gioncanda. The staff is friendly and helpful and the facilities are very nice and comfortable. Not 5 stars if you're comparing it to a Four Seasons, but a 5 for TripAdvisor or a solid 4 by western European standards. The hotel and grounds are really beautiful with a terrific view of the sea. Getting to the beach requires a 10 minute walk down many stairs, and of course a walk back up to get back to the hotel, but it's not hard to do. When I researched this hotel on TripAdvisor, it said the Executive room has a sea view and balcony. Sadly, this is not true. It does have a sea view, but no balcony. There are only 3 or 4 rooms with balconies and none of them are Executive rooms.

Couple of Days in Odessa

Was staying for a break for several nights at the hotel. Admittedly I visited off the main summer season so the hotel was quiet but the staff were very friendly and helped with things such as getting a taxi in to the town centre (about 10 minutes drive). My room was excellent and very comfortable. Food was good and reasonably prompt. Overall a very nice hotel and recommended.

Entspannung pur

Schönes kleines Hotel mit erstklassigem Service. Die Zimmer sind stilvoll ausgestattet. Ein herrlicher Garten lädt zum Ausruhen ein; schöner Meerblick. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Direkter Zugang zum Spazierweg entlang des Meeres. Nachteil: Es wird in direkter Nachbarschaft gebaut, so dass in naher Zukunft etwas Baulärm möglich ist. Man benötigt ein Taxi um aus der Stadt zurückzukommen; die Gegend direkt vor dem Hotel ist durch einen Garagenpark geprägt. Insgesamt aber ein sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel für ein paar Tage in Odessa.
