"Very kind and helpful staff welcomed me just before a major cloudburst. My room assignment was switched to make it easier for me to get from car to room. I appreciated that. Room, while “vintagely” furnished, was immaculate and spacious. The grounds right outside were tropically planted so lots of colorful foliage and plenty of songbirds not far off. "First of all this place is a spa and then a hotel, as the entire Walnut Creek hangs out there. It’s packed!!! Not conducive to a good “4 start hotel.” The staff is overwhelmed in the restaurant that cannot handle the guest! I made two room reservations and my daughter’s room was a joke as they got a brick wall to look at, the toilet did not work and the tank would not fill, the shower temp was only super hot or very cold!!! The room was unacceptable and we are not coming back to this...

"We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Lafayette Hotel and Spa. The hotel and its grounds are truly lovely and their staff (shout out to Terrance at the front desk!) is amazing. Their onsite restaurant, The Park Bistro and Bar”, is fantastic as well. The food was very well prepared and beautifully presented.
