Nice quiet spot and manager was lovely to speak to. Unfortunately we noticed a smell when we arrived which we discovered the next morning was likely from dog food and chicken mince packets left behind in the bin compartment. Linen appeared clean but we noticed a few stains on the lounge and

Nice, quiet place to stay with family or friends.
Fairly good place to spend with family. A little dated but cost effective for low budgets. The shower is small but the living area is a good size. Outside ther's also pleanty of space to have a bbq and play with the kids.

Lovely to be able to have the dog at the accommodation. A fence around the cabin's yard would be a huge improvement. Cabin is basic but fine. Would have preferred to see hard floors over carpets given pets are allowed inside.

Quiet, private cabins, ideal for larger families.
Very spacious in and out, particularly the kitchen/living area where you have a nice gas fireplace. Beds were comfortable. Toilet is dated but OK. At night, the wooden floors are very noisy, as is the metal roof when it rains a good shower. Overall, great value considering the privacy of the property and large outside area where the whole family can play.

Lovely basic, but clean accommodation and the perfect quiet family getaway. There is good wifi signal, but I almost wish there was none as we really felt cut off from the rest of the world!
Lovely property. Had linen and towels for all. Supplied soap, but not shampoo. Fully equipped kitchen. Fire pit was so much fun, kids enjoyed looking for firewood (of which there was plenty around). Kangaroos everywhere in the morning. Will stay again.
Place is secluded and very private. Enjoyed our stay just relaxing after a day of wine tasting. Paul is very helpful and communicative. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended!
This is a great farm stay which is perfect for those families who have kids who love to run & play. My kids loved the walks through bush collecting firewood, the fire-pit and the BBQ, toasted marshmallows and coal-cooked stuffed potatoes. There's plenty of space for cricket & football. The cottage had everything we needed for a warm, comfortable and relaxing stay.
I was quite happy to lodge at the Hunter Hideaway Cottage
It was private and quite which I was looking for . While it’s not modern, I would still recommended staying if you need a base and don’t want to be disturbed
It’s isolated enough to just kick back and take in the local scrub land. It’s easy to get about the Hunter Vineyards.
There is a coffee shop up the road about 5 minutes by car if you wanted to grab a coffee before starting the day.
But otherwise the place is fully equipped to make your own
Paul the owner was friendly and helpful,
It’s a nice property road is a bit treacherous 4wd advised as lots of potholes and gravel road to property but once get there nice rooms and location you most likely see kangaroos but very quiet
We had issues from the start, to list a few:
The TV would work.
There were copious amounts of Ants, bull ants outside and sugar ants inside.
There is no way to lock the door from the inside, hence very poor security.
The bunk beds do not have rails, and the ladders are extremely dangerous.
The feather pillows are shedding, which results in being stabbed in the face every time you move.
The bathroom had a bolt protruding from the floor, which my wife stood on and cut a hole in her foot.
The kitchen utensils were very old and of very poor quality.
The stove did not work.
The smoke detector did not work.
The general cleanliness of the cabin was not up to scratch, and there was dust on all flat surfaces and spiderwebs on all picture frames.
The 1 positive was the location, it was quiet and close enough to the hunter valley.
Beautiful view, quiet area, kangaroos grazing all around. Lovely birds as well.

Beds
The description of the beds was inaccurate. On asking for clearer descriptions we found that 4 twin beds actually meant 2 queens and a sofa bed which did not suit us so we chose a cottage with 2 queens and 2 single beds however, the 2 single beds turned out to be bunks which for a group of women in our 60s was a challenge. Otherwise it is comfortable clean budget accommodation and it that is what you want then I would recommend it.
