"Great location and friendly staff"

"The room was a nice size, breakfast was good, but you had to be there early to grab something before it was gone, the bed was comfortable. The only thing was it was loud, you could hear everything going on outside and because it was spring break, the kids were out late and it sounded like they were right outside our door. I would stay here again but I would choose a different room or stay when it's not so busy."

First, the 30 dollar parking was insane and there was huge trucks double parked so we were lucky to squeeze in somewhere. Second the room was missing a nightstand and a lightbulb, I had to move the bed because one of the lights was unplugged and considering we only had one other light with a lightbulb, we needed it, no tissues, half a roll of toilet paper with no refill and there were no cups...

"The location is fantastic, we didn't take our car out once. Very walkable everywhere on the boardwalk to The Wedge Park, took the ferry over to Balboa Island and walked around the whole island, the Pier is there with Ruby's restaurant at the end, a lot of food options around, a park next door. All of the staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel and area is also very dog-friendly so we took our dog everywhere with us. "After seeing the photos, I booked 3days, for my business trip. New Owners have turned the old Harbor Bay Inn into a “Go To” place for a simple, well appointed room. Every room is remodeled (less than 6month as of this review 6-2026). Everything is new! Not just refreshed or painted over. Very impressed. "Very nice hotel near the airport. We stayed in a large suite with a king bed and a sofa. Really large room. Hotel has free filtered water in the lobby and coffee in the morning. I took off one star because the hotel charges $25 per night for parking while there's plentiful free parking in the strip mall next door and on the street. This is a money grab that is a little deceitful."
