Loved the combination of dining and staying here at the property which was in the heart of downtown. We had stayed in New Braunfels before but being in the circle of it all, we gained a different perspective and our family loved it.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are unique and spacious. The bed is comfortable and you can’t beat the location for shopping and dining in New Braunfels.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was very nicely done in a vintage style and very spacious. Aside from baby birds chirping outside our window at 4am the room was very quiet from outside noises. The cafe downstairs was great service and food and good coffee.
We came into town for a concert at the Brauntex Theater. We usually stay at The Faust, but wanted to try something different that was still within walking distance to the theater. We stayed in the Comal Suite. The owner was up front with us that it needs some cosmetic renovation, which it does. However, it was perfectly clean. The current bathroom setup is a bit weird in that there isn't a door. From a light perspective, that is not an issue because there is a wall between the bathroom and the bedroom, but if you like your privacy then this might not be the room for you. There is a full living room and kitchen which would be excellent if you are staying several days and don't want to eat out for every meal. We really enjoyed the balcony, which is very roomy. Since we were on the third floor, it felt like we were in a tree house. The balcony of this room overlooks the main roundabout in New Braunfels, so there was some traffic noise in the evening but not enough to drive us back inside. The bed was very comfortable. We ate at the cafe the next morning (it conveniently opens at 6am), and enjoyed coffee and excellent sausage kolaches. We plan to stay there the next time we are in town for an overnight stay.
We stayed in the two bedroom suite for 10 and were so pleased with our experience. The owners are available and very attentive to detail. The included breakfast was a real surprise and added bonus. This is not your quickie hotel buffet but was a beautiful and tasty meal. The rooms were cool and comfortable. The balcony is huge! The beds were great!! But the location is the real star with this rental! Right on the town square with loads of shopping, markets, bars and restaurants!!
Very well located in the heart of New Braunfels. Room was very spacious and well decorated. We loved the convenient Crosswalk Cafe for breakfast - downstairs from our room, which had great breakfast offerings! A minor issue had to do with the insufficient shampoo, soap etc for a 3 day stay. Also, coffee was not provided, but we asked for some and we were accommodated.

The property is in a great location town wise, but very noisy area. There is a coffee shop downstairs, which is convenient, but also starts their music and cooking at 6am. Plus, the street traffic along with the church bells every 15 minutes. Bring your ear plugs. The unit itself was older as expected, could use some updates.
Fantastic location, charming and well maintained! Communication with the owners/management is too-notch and everything was well kept and as advertised. Stayed here before and will definitely stay again, highly recommend!
Our stay was better than satisfactory, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the hospitality. Would recommend this as a must stay , if traveling to New Braunfels,Texas.Delicious food served at restaurant .
We escaped our beautiful home after being "snowed in" for three days with no power or water and this place was like finding HEAVEN. Heat, water, space, and just above the wonderful Crosswalk Cafe and coffeeshop, where we got a free breakfast! STEPS away form a fun pub with great pizza. A few steps more from a European Bistro, more craft Pubs and McAdoo's Seafood; a short drive from Cancun Mexican restaurant. While Arlen's the nice neighborhood grocery suffered from no bread, we found home-made baguettes and Foccacia bread as well as dozens of other delights at the walking-distance Farmers Market, the Saturday after the storm when all began to thaw. Heaven.
I loved that this hotel is a historic hotel in the downtown area. It boasts lots of charm and an at home atmosphere. There’s no elevator which concerned me due to recent back surgery but they posed no issue. The loft we were in was updated and cozy! Don’t let the entry way fool you! It’s a 170 year old hotel so the entry is small and hallways/stairs aren’t air conditioned. The loft and suites do have central air/heating. The bathroom and kitchen was modern. We enjoyed sitting on the private balcony drinking coffee from the cafe on the first floor. We will definitely stay there again should we find ourselves back in the area!
It’s an old building and the rooms are not updated at all. You can’t set the AC lower than 72 and it’s on the busy city center. Pretty loud outside. Also, the 1st floor smelled like a dead body. The people were very nice and the cafe was really good. No way on earth it’s worth $200/night though.
