"This place was ok. The highlights were the staff and the location, and Café Karin across the street. I booked this place through Expedia and it was not clear that this was resident apartments, not a hotel. The residences are charged extra for parking, for the use of the spa, use of bath robes, etc.
These place is also very noisy.... because of the tile halls you can hear every conversation, door closing and footstep from the halls. There were young kids running and screaming down the halls in the morning and drunk people partying all night in the hotel bar screaming down the halls.
I booked a massage in the spa which is near the children's play room so instead of a relaxing hour, I heard kids screaming and adults conversing right outside the space..... not a good set-up.
Also, the beds are futons and the mattresses have a permanent impression in them so it wasn't very comfortable.
I wish Expedia gave me the option of booking the hotel versus the apartments because what we got was not the kind of holiday we were looking for. If we return to Val Gardena, we will stay elsewhere. "
"PROS:
-Large apartment, very well equipped, with a balcony offering a BEAUTIFUL landscape
-Includes parking
-Good location. The town itself is beautiful and very peaceful. We booked here because Ortisei was full, and in the end we liked St. Cristina even more
TO IMPROVE:
-Cleaning is not included, and they charge EUR 55 if you don’t wash the dishes and take out the rubbish
-Check-in is 100% self-service, which feels a bit uncomfortable at first, but in the end everything worked smoothly and quickly"
"My wife and I enjoyed a week stay with breakfast and dinner included. The food was superb, the staff were friendly and professional, and the location was excellent being central to the town. We appreciated the short walk to either gondola station and the ski storage room with boot and glove heaters in our locker. The spa was the perfect place to relax after a full day of skiing. The hotel offered a free reception with wine and appetizers in the bar. We plan to make this an annual trip!"
"We spent 7 days early March and had an outstanding experience. The food was terrific both breakfast and dinner. Our room was always clean and comfortable. The ski storage room was very helpful. The location to everything in Ortisei is extremely easy to access. Our group definitely were all pleased with our decision to stay here. The dining staff we could not quite figure out if they disliked us or avoided us but we thanked them for taking such good care of us throughout the week. The final bill included drink charges that we were confused by how that was tallied during the week but I knew to have some flexibility in the final cost for these adjustments since it is a vacation to enjoy and take pleasure. We will certainly consider staying again at this family owned wonderful hotel. "
"Great hotel, delicious breakfasts and dinners, nice spa area and garden, even though it was hard to find the sauna the first time :) We will definitely be back :) "
