Arrived to book in – no Paper work prepared and they bickered about. Very unwelcoming. I checked the windows did not lock in the room. Door very flimsy. He came over reluctantly to fix windows. Old sash style that did not lock without a fight. He struggled and finally managed it then draw curtains across so I couldn’t check. Treated like dumb blond inconveniencing him. Ignored my query about another room that windows locked completely. My phone carry web down when I asked them, they shrugged and said phone never work in town. I know this is a lie because I stay every year in this town on my trip. I would out at local Woollies the mobile system was completely down not just my. No WIFI password was given. I had to go ask for Wi-Fi password, Its written-on plastic container of lollies on their reception desk. I had to take photo of Wi-Fi password as she had no intention of offering me a pen or paper. Just shrugged and told me it’s not very good. It was any good. Couldn’t get on but I have used WIFI at other hotels so its not the WIFI that is problem. Shower had mould in it. Cockroaches on the bench next to the microwave. Running around. Usually there is intro book with emergence numbers, fire escape plan, details abut hotel, rules to be followed, Wi-Fi number etc. Nothing but an aging folder stuffed with old tourist brochures as a few typed up menus for local pub and bowls club.

Convenient place to stay

It could do with some repairs. The mirror in the main room was broken. There was lots of fluff and bits on the carpet showing it had not been vacuumed and no bath Matt. The meals were fantastic.

I was very disappointed. Arriving after 5pm, we had to wait over an hour before they could get the door open for one as the lock wasn’t working. When asked for an alternative room we were told to wait. When asked how long the locksmith might take, we were told ‘do you have a crystal ball?’. That was topped off by a long wait for check in, lukewarm water in the shower and hard beds. However it wasn’t all bad with only one of the staff rude while the other was very pleasant, a spacious room and an effective room heater. Won’t be staying again though.

Nice enough rooms, but our bathroom floor could have been a lot cleaner. Checkin was a bit on the cool side, but later in the evening we bumped into the manager and she was much happier. Overall, good location, bed and room. Would probably try them again.

Money well spent!

Couldn't fault the place. So clean and felt like we were the first people to ever stay in it. Walking distance to everything. Powerful and spacious shower which was a delight! Definitely recommend it!

Room was clean and well presented. However was disappointed with the mattress, was not comfortable and had a long uncomfortable sleep, did not wake refreshed to continue our journey.
