"The view from the room was amazing"

"I preface this review by saying the room cost over £600 for 2 nights and needs to be judged as such. For that price I expect far better than what I got. We gave our name to check in and the first thing I was told by the receptionist was that my card had been declined, but I hadn't given any card to reception. Plus, the room was paid in full. After the receptionist confirmed this was true I asked if I needed to add my card to the room since we would be spending on site. I was told no card was necessary and we could pay as and when we bought things. We went to the bar for a drink and was told they don't take cards or cash, only room keys. So I had to go back to the receptionist to add the card to the room. The room... hairs on the towel, hairs in the shower and the table in the room hadn't been wiped and was sticky. The shampoo bottle was just an empty bottle with zero shampoo inside. For £100/night these issues wouldn't be a problem, but £300/night they are unacceptable. The one good thing is the lady host running breakfast was fabulous. And the breakfast food is nice too."

"The locations is excellent. The property overall is well maintained and the staff were excellent. The Glen Mohr Bar is a wonderful place to congregate and enjoy the drinks and venue. The only negative is that two of the rooms our family stayed in either had issues with the shower faucets and in our case the shower door handles had cracked metal surface that caused a simple cut. That is the only part where upkeep would be better. Otherwise it is a lovely property and quiet and close to everything and looking over the water."

"The place is well situated in Inverness. Beds were extremely comfortable, baths were large enough. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Too many light switches- don’t know what controls what. Fan in room 222 won’t shut off and there’s an outlet in the bathroom for a shaver BUT not one for a hair dryer. What the heck ?!?"

"The hotel is quite dated for the price. I had one of the cleaning staff be extremely rude to me and he was very unprofessional. He attended my room, I asked him to come back in 5 minutes as we were just getting our things together to leave the room. His response was, “if it doesn’t get done now, it doesn’t get done at all”, and walked off. I had to call him back as we needed fresh towels etc, he came back, rushed around the room, rinsed a dirty glass in the sink and wiped it with a cloth and put it back. I reported this to a member of staff at check out, I was told that member of staff knew the cleaner I was talking about from my description of him. That member of staff asked if I would like it reported, which I said yes please, I was told that a manager would get back to me. I have never heard from anyone about my complaint, or any action taken with the cleaner."

"When we arrived I told the reception desk that we would like to have the room made up daily. The manager at that time was on a ladder changing some light bulbs. When we got to the room the asset was locked and we could not use it. Went back down to the front desk to ask for help. The receptionist came up about 10 mins later to tell me she didn’t know what to do and would put in a claim to get it repaired. I asked my son whose room was across the hall if his worked. He said no. The next morning about 6:15am the fire alarm went off. We took the stairs to the main floor and asked what happened. They told us that there was some equipment that had not been cleaned and it went off while breakfast was being cooked. Went to get in the shower only to find out the dispenser on the wall was empty. Reported this to the front desk and left for the day. When we returned after dinner our room had not been made up. I went down to let the receptionist know it had not been done. There is no AC in this hotel and the rooms are extremely stuffy. We asked the front desk for fans and explained that in our sons room a pidgeon had tried to get in the window. The receptionist implied that we just had bad karma. We were here for four nights and were not able to get more than 5 hours of sleep each night because with the windows open and the fan going there was just too much noise from the street to fall asleep until the street noise quieted down. I would not recommend this hotel."
