"I love Hotel SLO and have stayed there several times. It’s a beautiful property, in the middle of downtown, with ridiculously comfortable beds and an excellent staff. Unfortunately, the last couple times I’ve stayed there have been some maintenance issues in the rooms that have not been addressed. The door to our bathroom was very difficult to slide and all in all everything in the bathroom was loose, tired, and needed attention. It feels like Hotel SLO is riding on its laurels and not working...

"The breakfast was perhaps the best that I have ever had, not just a fried egg. spectacular fried egg. The only comment I would make is that the mirror above the sink is set up for someone 5'3", not anyone around 6'. Otherwise the place has old world charm only a block from the downtown."

"The property is in a great location convenient walking distance to downtown. Free parking & breakfast were extra bonuses. The complimentary beverage at happy hour is a nice amenity before heading out for the evening. Many restaurant choices a safe 10-15 minute walk, 30-40 min drive to Paso Robles for Sensorio ( not to be missed) 15 min drive to the coast for beautiful beaches. I would highly recommend"

"There were no personal safes in the room - a real problem for Cal Poly gradation which didn’t allow purses! And no toiletries - and we had forgotten to take these! The front desk gave us tooth brushes when we asked - but no amenities in room"

"All the rooms are suites, which is to say they all come with a small separate sitting room with tv, and a kitchenette with sink, refrigerator and microwave. Very convenient and provides families with extra space. There’s also free breakfast with an omelette station , and a buffet of breakfast staples. The staff are always friendly. We stayed at the Embassy Suites whenever we visited our son who was going to the university nearby."

"The location was extremely convenient, close to the Freeway and a bunch of restaurants, grocery stores and coffee shops. The property was well maintained and really clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again in the future."

"Property and rooms were clean. However, service was lacking. Room was not cleaned after our first night. Luckily room started off pretty clean when we arrived. Don’t expect any amenities. Staff was friendly enough though."

"The hotel is an older building, but the owners have cleaned it out and give it a more modern appearance. The facility was clean. It was a very reasonable price given the price of other hotels in town. There initially was a little road noise early in the evening, but that went away by about 8 o’clock. I would gladly recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again the next time I’m in town."
