"It’s an ideal place to stay in Kathmandu. Right in the middle of Thamel, so you’re right by the restaurants, bars and attractions but it’s off the street so is delightfully peaceful and quiet. All the staff were polite and efficient, breakfast was great- I got an excellent freshly made omelette snd coffee. The gentlemen who make them were both fantastic and deserve extra praise. Someone kindly carried my bag for me and they hired a comfortable and clean cab for me. "

"A hotel with an elevator and a lovely restaurant/bar and dipping pool the size of a hot tub on the roof top. I also saw a sauna and steam room but I didn’t try them out. Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city, Nepal. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the north-west parts of the temple, it occupies a central position and it is probably the most sacred among Buddhist pilgrimage sites. For Tibetans and followers of Tibetan Buddhism, it is second only to Boudhanath. I was lucky enough to visit Nepal, see it and take some pictures a week before the 2015 earthquake. The temple complex suffered damage in the Nepal earthquake. :-(
