"The hotel is a jewel in the heart of historic Castel Gandolfo. Our Superiore room was spacious, well equipped, and had a long balcony with a breath taking view of Lake Albano. "What a gem!! We had a lake view room and it was beautiful! The bed was super comfy, the shower was spacious and great pressure and everything was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and a great breakfast. Then, the rooftop pool!!! A very classic yet not at all stuffy hotel. I can’t wait to go back. Just a short walk to the main square in town and the train station is not far."

"The first room was not acceptable due to a strange musty smell but our host was able to put us up in two different rooms and not only have partial refund, but paid for our breakfast, parking and helped with luggage. Very clean rooms with nice amenities. Don’t book the Honeymoon loft with two rooms! He’s is working on the smell issue there but it’s an old building and may take some time. The Suite with a king and twin in the same room has a gorgeous loft patio on the lake and the Romeo and Juliet suit in town was nice too."

"breakfast was poor with the selection of choices and lack of a varied hot menu or drinks menu. However, the hotel staff were super helpful and tried their best to help you when needed. They really did and were always smiley and welcoming. The bathrooms were tiny and it was hard to turn around in the shower. Whilst the bedrooms were clean, again very difficult to manuevre with cases on the floor. This is was the standard rooms, i believe the other deluxe rooms were much more brighter and bathrooms larger. Great location, views were beautiful and overall a great place to stay."

"Good people are the best asset in any place, and Cape House is blessed with amazing people. The cleaning staff are friendly and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness. And Fabio takes great care to ensure that guests are comfortable and well looked after. He found me a quiet place to work away from the noise of some renovations that were in progress a couple of days, and kindly gifted a bottle of wine to compensate for any inconvenience that the work may have caused. The place itself is also lovely. Located close to a couple of lakes and the pope’s summer residence. Also a short drive or train ride into Rome. Yet far enough out of the city to hear birds rather than constant traffic. And very quiet during the night. The kitchen is well equipped for the simple meals one makes when away from home. And the mattress and furniture are comfortable. I enjoyed a week at Cape House and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone travelling in the area."
