"This hotel has 5 stars on the door but I don’t think this is a good reflection. Upon arrival, staff were friendly, provided us with drinks and allowed us to check in early. All of which is very good. Unfortunately, whilst the hotel decor is nice, it is dated. Within the room, one of the draws was falling apart, the shower head would never point where it needed to due to the plastic shower hose, and there was plenty of wear and tear. The AC did very little to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. The bed was comfy and large. Although I was provided with twin beds when my booking stated it would be a king. We put the beds together and this did just fine. The location is excellent, being so close to Valetta as well as having a good sized pool, pool bar and access to the harbour for swimming. I don’t think there’s another hotel that offers the proximity as well as the facilities mentioned. Checkout was frustrating. It took 25 minutes for me to check out due to large queues. I arrived to check out 20 minutes before my taxi was due to arrive, assuming this would be more than sufficient time. Due to the delays, i almost missed my taxi to the airport. All in all, staff were friendly enough. But the hotel is dated and needing a refresh. The location is excellent but checking out needs to be improved."
