Palissandre Côte Ouest

Palissandre Côte Ouest

10/10 Excellent
"Gorgeous hotel on a stunning beach with 2 wonderful pools to relax around. The staff are very kind and helpful. The only slight niggle was the bed had a big dip in it where too many people had slept in it, the mattress needs changing to make it more comfortable. I can’t dock them a star for that though, it was by far the best place we stayed in Madagascar and far more luxurious than everywhere else."

Kily House

Kily House

8/10 Good
"Kily House was a nice, clean, and comfortable place to stay. The hot-water shower was nice and consistent throughout my stay. The air conditioning worked well, and the oscillating fan was a nice addition. I particularly enjoyed having a balcony, although I would suggest adding more privacy between neighboring balconies, as they felt somewhat exposed. The bathroom could use some improvement. There was a musky smell, and shower water tended to get all over the floor. Better ventilation, such as a bathroom fan, would help. A privacy screen rather than the nearly see-through window screen would also be preferable, as someone passing by could easily look inside when the window is open. More electrical outlets next to the bed would have made charging multiple devices more convenient. I was also reminded only during the last hour of my stay about a local tax. It would have been better to know about this earlier. Additionally, my reservation stated an 11:30 a.m. checkout, but I received a knock at 11:00 a.m. reminding me to check out. The checkout time communicated by the property should match the reservation. I chose Kily House for a birthday trip, so I was somewhat disappointed that nothing special was offered to acknowledge the occasion. Even a small gesture would have made the stay more memorable. Overall, I had a positive experience. With improvements to bathroom privacy and drainage, balcony privacy, electrical outlets, and communication regarding taxes and checkout,"
