About Mong Kok
One of the world’s busiest districts, Mong Kok is located in western Kowloon and showcases a great mixture of old and new. It has traditional Chinese characteristics and modern architecture. It is an area of street markets, shopping plazas, restaurants, and hotels. You'll also find a number of heritage sites.

For the historic side of Mong Kok, you might want to think of visiting the tenement buildings along Lai Chi Kok Road and Lui Seng Chun Road, the 19th century Old Kowloon Police Headquarters, Shui Yuet Temple, and All Saints' Church.
If you really want to experience the authentic side of Hong Kong, take a walk along Shanghai Street, Soy Street, or Portland Street. This is the unofficial red-light district of Hong Kong. Sports lovers should go to the Monk Kok Stadium and try to get tickets for a Hong Kong Premier League football or Hong Kong Rugby match.
Restaurants and BarsThere are plenty of options for eating in Mong Kok thanks to its great selection of food choices and prices. Wander along Tung Choi Street to find numerous food carts selling noodles, congee, and seafood. There is a good selection of restaurants in the shopping malls in the area. Fine dining is best at the Cordis Hong Kong at Langham Place. If you are looking for Thai food, head to the Dorsett Mongkok, Hong Kong. Tung Choi Street is a great area for drinking. There are also a few chic bars in the area including inside the Royal Plaza Hotel.
Shopping in Mong KokShopping is the main attraction of Mong Kok and you'll find everything from street markets to high-end shopping malls located here. The Ladies Market (along Tung Choi Street) is one of the most popular shopping streets specialising in woman’s cosmetics, clothing, and accessories. For electronics, walk along Sai Yeung Choi Street South. Fa Yuen Street is the place to shop for sports equipment and clothing. There are also other interesting markets, like the Yuen Po Street Bird Garden and Flower Market Road. Those that would prefer to shop indoors can find bargain items at the Hong Kong Shopping Centre and the Sino Centre. For known name brands, head to Langham Place or MOKO.
