I booked through Expedia and Expedia showed that the hotel had a hot tub. I wanted to stay in a hotel with a hot tub in order to relax for my last two days in Nairobi. However, when I arrived at the hotel, they told me that there was no hot tub. They said they could give me a room with a hot tub if I paid additional money, but that is not the same thing as booking a hotel that has a hot tub available for all guests to use in a common area. I contacted Expedia for a refund, but they refused stating that the hotel could’ve offered me a hot tub in my room for an additional expense. I should not have to pay additional for a hot tub after booking my room because there was already an understanding that the hot tub was included in the price, just like using the pool was already an included amenity. Hotels that offer hot tubs and pools have them in common areas for use by guests, and if an additional fee is necessary, that should be stated. I was very disappointed because I specifically chose this hotel to use the hot tub, and it was not available. In addition, the Internet did not work in the hotel during my stay.
I still would like a refund because I did not get the services that I paid for when I booked the room.
