Great self contained sandstone cottage. The supplied Breakfast basket was awesome and provided a hearty breakfast for 2. The owner Shane was super helpful and nothing was an issue. Very well fitted out cottage, all you needed for a stay and then some. The fireplace was excellent for warming the cottage in the Winter weather and electric blankets were an extra comfort provided.

Friendly staff, clean cottage and some bread/milk/juice/eggs etc already stocked up to use for breakfast. Close to the walking track to the stunning Arum lookout.

Cute little historic cottage in a lush surrounding. Lovely hosts with nice little touches such as breakfast goodies sourced from the local area.

Just as advertised. Beautiful. All cottages are set with private outlooks. Each cottage is very different too. We stayed in the hobbit. Which is 2 bedrooms. One side looks out to garden and a dam teeming with frogs. The other side you can sit and watch alphas, sheep and some of the local wallabies. The cottages are 10-15 minutes to Mole Creek which has a pub and service station. Chudleigh is 10 minutes but only has the famous honey shop and a general come everything shop (very. Limited). Deloraine is the “big smoke” about 20 minutes-you can get everything you need there. Highly recommend for a peaceful break.

What a wonderful place to stay, so relaxing! Of our 2 weeks in Tasmania, this was my favourite. I wish I worked in Tasmania so that I could regularly come here for weekend getaways.

The property was beautiful as was our cabin. The view was delightful and the owners extremely friendly and welcoming. The area was peaceful and serene and had nice hiking nearby.

Nothing(ex:restraunt or supermaket) around the cottage, but the orner is kind and the facilities are perfect. I love the wood stove there.

Great stay

We loved our stay. Beautiful cottage with everything we needed. Hot spa on deck was great and loved the outlook. The property was lovely and nice to wander around and see the animals. We ordered a platter on arrival which was delicious and our host Shane informed us of all the local produce provided on platter plus the local wine.

Really nice host and really appreciated the locally sourced groceries provided on arrival. Place was a bit stuffy and dusty but overall was a really nice place. Really liked that it had some history to it and that we had a field of sheep and alpaca right outside.

This is a beautiful property that is on a farm, the cottage has its own gardens that are absolutely gorgeous. It’s very quiet and safe and I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone looking to unwind and relax. I will definitely come here again. It’s the best place I’ve stayed at in my 3 week stay in Tasmania.

The Hobbit Cottage is a charming jewel. The host provided fresh eggs, ham, bread, apple cider and fresh pasteurized milk for breakfast. The host is gracious and gave us excellent tips for hikes. At night the stars are tremendous. An excellent stay!!!

Lication, views and spa spectacular. Fully equipped kitchen and wood fire was a nice touch. Very friendly hosts with a canine welcoming comittee. All the littke luxuries are thought of. ..farm fresh butter, eggs, milk, bacon and jams a beautiful touch.Highly recommended and looking forward to returning.

Quiet location

Great hosts. Very private cottage with rural views. Lovely breakfast hamper supplied, with farm fresh eggs. One of Tassie's top short walks was just around the corner. A bit over an hour's drive to Cradle Mountain, and not far from caves and waterfalls. The hot tub on the deck was perfect after a day of walking at Cradle Mountain.

Self contained cabin in the middle of farm country. Plenty of toiletries, breakfast provisions of fresh local fare, the pot belly stove was well stocked, electric blankets on the beds and a super friendly host to introduce us to the property then left us alone. Perfect! Add to that the gorgeous dogs to make you feel at home, plenty of local wildlife around and a coffee pod machine in the kitchen made it the perfect stay. My only regret is only booking 2 nights otherwise we could have really leaned into our stay. We'll definitely be back again.

We stayed in a convict built two bedroom, two bathroom ,log fireplace all original features dwelling on a 72 acre farm . Surrounded by farmland with magnificent trees and gardens . Greeted by their three dogs. Supplied with milk, bread eggs and produce from farms , All for a very reasonable price. Would love to return for longer next time. Only 1.15 hours from Cradle Mountain. Great wholesome meals at hotel in town.
