Very nice place! Super friendly staff and excellent restaurant on the property! Great place to escape the hustle and bustle! The zip lining was amazing! The 25 zip lines over the waterfalls is a must do!

It is up a steep hill to get to the hotel. The view from lobby/restaurant is beautiful! The room is yes dated and a little small but it was fine. The internet was spotty which was the only downfall when it rained a lot. Food was good

If you are wanting to go where it is peaceful this is the spot. If you are wanting toilets that flush with toilet paper you should not come to Costa Rica. The food was great. We enjoyed our walks around the facility. The views were incredible. This is not a fancy hotel but it was great because we wanted to experience the country side over conveniences that we find in our home. We drove to the facility and had studied the map on how to get to our hotel. Many of the roads in Costa Rica are not labeled and marked. The drive up to the hotel was pretty. The zip line experience from the hotel was the best we have ever been on. We plan on coming back and will stay at this hotel again when we need some rest and relaxation.

Beautiful setting but needs maintenance

Beautiful views, great birding and you can sit outside and watch the beautiful sunset from the deck. Need bug spray if you sit out in the evening for long. Lots of hot water and good pressure in the shower. No fridge in the room and just generally a bit run down. Lots of dead bugs in both ceiling lights and the room smells musty. Beds were quite comfortable and air conditioning worked well. It is 12km after you turn off the main road. The road is paved but extremely curvy with many potholes but awesome views.

Last night, I stayed in an absolutely horrible hotel. It was beyond filthy, completely run-down, and it felt like it hadn’t been cleaned or maintained in years. The sheets were questionable, the bathroom was a complete disaster, and there was a strange, unpleasant smell lingering in the air. The walls were stained, the furniture was falling apart, and the whole place had a creepy, uncomfortable vibe. It honestly felt like no one had stayed there in years. But the worst part? The room was full of spiders! They were on the walls, in the corners of the ceiling, and I even spotted a couple on the bed! I didn’t know whether to sleep or stay up all night on guard to make sure none of them crawled on me. Honestly, in my entire life, I’ve never seen such a disgusting, run-down, and insect-infested place. It was a complete nightmare!

I have traveled for 40 years and I have to say this was the worst room I have ever stayed in. It smelled like strong mold the minute you walked in, the bed was folded in half and left for a very long time because the was a very deep in-dent across the whole mattress. You could not sleep in it. The shower head was attached to the wall with a nail and a zip tie on the side of the shower, unbelievable! I can't make this stuff up. The manager came to the room because the TV didn't work, he couldn't fix it, we showed him the mattress and he just said "hummm I guess we need a new mattress" They never offered to discount the room, reimburse the room, nothing. If I could give them a -0 I would. Look somewhere else!!

We stayed at the property for 1 night primarily because we heard good reviews of their zip lines over waterfalls and thought it would be more convenient. Ziplines were definitely the highlight and our family really enjoyed it. The route up was quite the adventure as it was steep and very very rocky. The tour not only included ziplining but a dip in one of the pools at the base of a water fall (no towels) and a rappel down a waterfall. At the time we went was dry season so the waterfalls were not in full force but still nice. The actual hotel location is quite remote therefore if you are looking to eat your only options is to stay eat there. The rooms and facilities (I.e., pool) are quite dated and could definitely use some maintenance compared to other locations that we stayed throughout Costa Rica (I.e., lamps didn’t work or were falling apart, bunk beds were squeaky/rocky and right next to the air conditioner so didn’t feel safe having my kids sleep up there). Pictures that they use to advertise the property don’t align with current reality. The one property manager who worked during the day/night and guides who did the zipline were helpdip but found it strange that as we were one of the only families staying onsite that the owner who was around didn’t actually come to greet or smile at us. Also one night we needed to call out to a 1800 number (insurance company) because our son had an infection, but the hotel was not able to support that.

Paz y tranquilidad

El lugar está un poco deteriorado por los años pero eso no nos incomoda. En estos tiempo donde tenemos tanta incertidumbre por la economía mundial, no es nada fácil la operación de un hotel como estos. Por el contrario es el momento correcto para aportar a las economias locales y entender que todos necesitan el trabajo para llevar la comida a sus mesas. Además para nosotros el silencio y paz del sitio es más que suficiente. Muchas gracias :D

Buena aventura y comida, pero falta mantenimiento

El lugar nos gustó mucho, piscina con agua de manantial, buen servicio al Check In, lo mejor: la comida del restaurante y tener opciones de aventura y eco turismo, muy apropiado para Costa Rica PERO, el mantenimiento general de las instalaciones y en especial de la habitación dejan mucho que desear, la habitación agradable y con vista, pero en la práctica, un A/C qué gotea sobre la cama principal, un ventilador de techo que no logramos encender, y el otra habitación los amigos tuvieron que dormir con la. Luz encendida que estaba en directo con el abanico. Y lo peor, camas de madera que hacer mucho ruido y colchones realmente incómodos, así que fue una larga y fea noche, y amanecer con dolor de cabeza. Al menos, el desayuno incluido de buena calidad y buen servicio por personal de la zona, típico de los ticos.

The views were fabulous. Food at El toucan was great. Primary reason for staying was easy access to waterfall tour. Which was best zipline tour we have Been on. Basic in room amenities. Warm water in shower. ( Not hot)

Hace falta mantenimiento

El lugar tiene unas vistas extraordinarias y una ubicación muy accesible. Las instalaciones muestran falta de mantenimiento y cierto grado de deterioro. Restaurante con oferta limitada y cuya relación costo oferta no la veo adecuada. Las habitaciones no aíslan ruido, es como compartir espacio con habitaciones al lado, todo se escucha.
