"It is a historic property so the grounds were beautiful and it’s next to the beach.
I stayed in a cottage and unfortunately it was not as updated as I’d hoped. The fireplace wasn’t working and the floor hadn’t been mopped in awhile as my socks and feet were constantly dirty.
I probably wouldn’t stay here again. Especially the price I paid for the cottage."

"The biggest con is the rooms smell like dog urine. I don't understand why the rooms are carpeted, especially if you allow dogs in the hotel?
There were also what looked like old feces stains on the carpet.
The other con is the location. I recommend staying in downtown Ventura to be within walking distance to dining and attractions, because there isn't much near the hotel.
Coffee was awful, which is the case at every hotel offering free coffee (another reason to stay downtown...

"They are trying but this place is old. Can tell the owners are clinging to the 1970s. I typically could care less about decor but it was painfully noticeable. No AC. No microwave. No cieling fan. We had quiet nieghbors but noise could be a problem.
Pros: can't get any closer to the beach. Can hear waves all night. Ample parking. Balcony (not entirely private as you can see all your nieghbors). It was a quiet area but we were there mid week. I can see it busy in summer. Did not use fire place as...
