"The hotel is well located with an excellent bakery below. Wifi is strong, breakfast is decent, however, parking is something you have to call ahead to reserve so please take note. One negative aspect about the hotel is the lack of lights, once you pull the curtain the room is very dark (yes, understandable in the summer) but please provide additional lights in case people want to read."

"Had a great stay but some issues with communication mean only 4 stars instead of 5. Starting with the good: Phenomenal location just steps from shoooing restaurants and major city sites. Once we were settled into the room, life was easy. Also, our room appeared recently renovated and had a full kitchen which helps save money vs eating at Reykjavík’s expensive restaurants. "Just had a 3-night stay at ION City. Staffs were all friendly and amazing. Location is in the core downtown tourism area of reykjavic so that could be pro or cons depending on what you like. It's a little bit loud outside especially if the room is towards the street, but window is reasonably sound-proof. One issue was that when I first arrived there were a few blood drops in the bath towels, but after I raised that issue the room service was all good for the rest of the stay. Overall 4/5. "

"I loved the location, the cleanliness of the hotel, the eclectic decor and art work. The front desk was most helpful, helping us to navigate the area and making dinner reservations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!"

"Praises and accolades to the friendly, helpful staff at the student hostel. The facilities were excellent and the location ideal for walking into town. There was free parking in the adjacent lot, which made it a perfect base for the many day trips we took in Iceland. Highly recommended!"

"The hotel had the most wonderful location. It was just off the main downtown road and everywhere one wanted to be. It was very clean, staff was very helpful and professional. The restaurant on site was wonderful! The only drawback was there wasn’t any air conditioning in the rooms. The two days we visited we actually could have used it, very warm."

"We loved everything about this hotel. The service at the front desk was 24/7, and all on duty were always very helpful with suggestions, getting taxis, etc. They even set up a private tour for us. Some may prefer a restaurant with a free breakfast, but there were places to eat nearby and we also went to the market and bought breakfast/ lunch some days—there was a nice sized refrigerator in the room.
