This is an excellent hotel for one or two nights ( the rooms are small) but very clean, with helpful staff and in a very convenient location only 5 minutes walk from the station and 10 minutes walk to Matsumoto castle. The room rate was very good and this hotel offers good value.

Matsumoto, nearby the train station is a delight! This hotel is just a few minutes walk and there are dozens and dozens of places to shop and eat nearby. The hotel is super clean and the staff is excellent. What a great stay!

I really enjoyed staying here. Great location close to JR station and short walk to the castle. The rooms were clean, spacious and as an extra, they offered free ramen or desert for all guests.

Pretty new looking hotel. Room for was clean and modern. Bathroom was bigger than other hotel rooms I’ve stayed at in Japan. Staff were nice, and they offer free soba or ice cream nightly from 8-10pm. Close to the station, castle, and izakaya and restaurant area.

Excellent location. Less than 5mins walk to Matsumoto stn, tons of restaurants in the area and walking distance to Matsumoto castle. (Maybe 10mins walk? ) For what you pay, you get all you need. The breakfast choice was good as well.

Very nice hotel in a good location with friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. Free ramen and ice cream were offered to guests in the lobby in the evening. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay at this hotel: Location was quiet and super convenient to train station, Matsumoto castle, and other sights. Staff was extremely kind and the breakfast had a lot of delicious options. Such a great town to stroll about! Would definitely stay here again!

Hotel has recently been refurbished, so everything was clean and modern. Really liked that a pastries and coffee were available for free each morning. When I arrived to drop off my bag, no-one was on reception and there were a few people waiting before a member of staff arrived at the front desk, although this was only a minor inconvenience.

This is a clean and modern hotel which is very well located. It is close to the station, a twenty minute walk to the castle and right next to the entertainment district which is full of places to eat. We stayed in a moderate double room and it was definitely on the small side for two people. The reason that I gave a four star review is that the bed was not that comfortable compared to other hotels that we have stayed at in Japan. I felt like they could have invested in higher quality mattresses.

Must stay in Matsumoto

Fantastic find and a really nice room. Close to the train station. Modern and efficiently outfitted. Laundry rooms available with ample machines unlike some other establishments. Highly recommended. The free desert or ramen each night was great.

Pros: 5 min walk from Matsumoto station, many restaurants within 5-10min walking distance that’s foreign friendly, brand new hotel facility (beds were firm, staff was very friendly, overall facility very clean), free breakfast (western and American options were available and it was all delicious!), late night snacks (ramen and ice cream) available Cons: depending if there’s a tour group or not - the small/medium sized breakfast area can be very busy until 8:30am and you would need to wait, shower curtain has a musty smell if not aired out properly Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Room for improvement

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is about 15mins walk from the station. Rooms are modern & comfortable. They do not provide bottled water but free waffle ice cream or ramen from 8 - 10pm. Breakfast was great. However, the reception we received upon arrival was disappointing by Japanese standards. In fact, it was the worst check in for our entire trip. After processing whatever was required, staff just left everything on the counter to sort out ourselves. That’s when we realised we were short 1 day’s breakfast tickets. No apologies, no smile. Neither did he inform us about the complimentary supper / desert. We only found out ourselves on the 2nd day. The guy was simply not interested in his work. The rest of the staff were much more professional.
