"We absolutely loved our time at La Mariposa. It was clean, conveniently located to great dining, quiet -- but by far our favorite was the view and the staff! The view is the most spectacular dining view we've ever seen. It's a wrap-around view of the mountains in the distance, the national park / rainforest to one side and the expanse of the pacific ocean. It's beautiful at both sunrise and sunset! Several restaurants in the area having stunning views of the ocean but absolutely none compare to La Mariposa and its onsite restaurant Le Papillon. It's truly jaw dropping. The pool and sunset bar share the view as well.
The staff were incredibly gracious, kind and accommodating. Alan at the front desk is an absolute gem of a person -- we adored him and he took excellent care of us. My wife and daughters also loved the resident cat Marina who the hotel has kindly adopted.
We were greeted by monkeys every morning when we walked out our door -- they always visit early in the morning and my daughters had the best time poking their heads out each morning and seeing the monkeys racing around -- some with babies on their backs.
A sloth took up residence in a beautiful almond tree that the kids would go visit each morning at breakfast.
We would stay here again in an instant."
"The hospitality at this resort was remarkable. The warmth of the staff and the care with which they approached us during our stay was real and authentic. We will definitely be back!"

"This was an absolutely magical experience! We chose this place for our honeymoon and couldn't have picked a better destination! From the moment we stepped foot on the grounds, we felt like royalty.
The ambiance was spectacular - everywhere you turn you are witnessing beauty, lush forest backgrounds, playful animals in the trees and stunning Pacific Ocean views. Every single staff member here knew our names and were eager to help. They were so friendly and made our stay that much better.
Our Ocean Suite room was immaculate and so beautiful. The balcony and view of the ocean made every morning so special! The bathroom was spacious and spa-like, and the bed was very comfortable. Having Netflix on the TV was a nice touch for a night-in with delicious room service after a long day of adventuring.
The breakfasts on the pool terrace were amazing and the best way to start our day. The fresh fruit, coffee and juice, along with the high-end meal options were something we looked forward to. Our favorite pool, the saltwater pool, and our favorite bartended Elias, was such a nice way to unwind while enjoying the breathtaking views or the playful monkeys. The water was just cool enough to feel refreshed against the warm balmy air. The swim up bar was so convenient and a fun little party in an otherwise serene and calm setting.
We can't recommend this place enough for a truly special experience. We WILL be back someday!"
"Our room was nice, clean, and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly enough, José at the front desk was very nice and super helpful in answering our questions. All the Capuchin monkeys running around the resort was super fun! Only misses we had were that we wish the pool bar stayed open later and that there was a hot tub/thermal pool. There were shuttles to the different restaurants but a shuttle to the beach would have been nice since it’s a 10 min walk all uphill on the way back. "
"I loved the cleanliness. Even the bathrooms by the pool were clean and well kept. The entire staff was very nice and accommodating. The included breakfast was also great. "
