"The property is very beautiful and the views of the sea from the slope of the Etna are spectacular. Very quiet, comfortable accommodations, very nice swimming pool. The location is excellent, a short drive to the sea and also close to Taormina and Catania, which was very convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. I would love to go back for a longer stay."

"We had the most lovely stay at Antico Borgo Etneo. Conveniently located 5 minutes from the train station, the property is gorgeous, our room was very clean and relatively cool considering we were in the middle of a heat wave. Great hospitality and a scrumptious breakfast (we’ll be thinking about that lemon chiffon cake for ages). We would stay again the next time in Calatabiano. Grazie a tutti!"

"Staff were great and very helpful, Though we found we got better/faster responses to questions when emailing directly versus using expires messenger. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of options. We also ate an evening meal there and it was delicious. Centrally located for for exploration of the etna region. Room was very clean. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to a friend"

"The stay had much to be desired. Check in was at 2. When we arrived at 2 we were told it would be about another hour as they were not ready. It was about 35 to 40 mins and the room was ready. When we got to our room we were told that the TV and the fridge dont work. Unfortunately I had to be a bit of a complainer. "It is unusual for me to stay somewhere and say I would never recommend and this is one of those unusual cases. Firstly, we had issues on the second day to access our room and it turned out the door handle locking system had run out of battery so our key cards didn't work. It was a lot of faff to get this sorted and we were told until its fixed to leave our room door open - I was appalled by this suggestion of lack of security. There was no ironing board or iron so I was not able to iron my floaty dresses etc. The wifi did not work in the room so I had to use an e-sim while in the room, but the wifi did work round the pool. The hairdryer in the room was such poor quality and is comparable to ones I have used in two star hotels. The bedding sheets are only changed every three days and they never even informed us of this at check-in. I only found out about this 3 day rule when I enquired why our room wasn't serviced fully. We also had lots of ants in our room even though we were on the 4th floor. When I did raise this issue it was swiftly resolved but I would not expect to find this. Overall I would not consider this a four star hotel experience, 3 star would be pushing it too."

"Breakfast had an interesting variety, I LOVED the fresh squeezed blood orange juice! Melania at the front desk was charming & very professional. She took excellent care of my out of the ordinary international travel timing needs. The opera fest in Bellini Park added the charm of live operatic soprano rehearsals in the mornings"
