I was overcharged for days I did not stay and they refused a refund. The owner (Khaleem(?)) became defensive and yelled and argued with me.
I arrived and the room was not as described online. There is no window in the room, it is dark and airless, and the bathroom is open to the main lobby so there is no privacy and the entire riad can hear every sound coming from the bathroom. They were nice enough to exchange my room for 2 days and told me I’d need to find another solution afterward bc the 2nd room was booked then (the 2nd room wasn’t much better, small window with darkened glass, very low lights, odd smell, bathroom outside the room).
When I checked out, they were overcharging me for 3 extra days that I did not stay & stated there is a no refund & cancellation policy. This is when I spoke with the owner who got extremely defensive and argued and yelled, he even said I "must like to feel superior coming to a poor country and refusing to stay in his hotel”, and refused to correct the charge. After encountering the owner, it felt unsafe. (I actually still feel concerned bc he has my personal passport info.) The booking agent even called them and they refused to cooperate with the booking agent.
I would highly NOT recommend this riad. They overcharge, have behaved unprofessionally, and don't honestly describe rooms.
(One positive -Younes, the employee, was remarkable, kind, & helpful! The male owner is the one who behaved inappropriately...)
