"The hotel is absolutely perfect. The place itself is small and has a boutique feeling to it. The pool with salty warm water is perfect. The staff is quite helpful, kind and flexible since we were traveling with a baby. The breakfast is continental style for beautifully served with warm bread and fresh squeezed orange juice. The hotel room comes with a complementary wine hotel. If I had to make a couple of suggestions is to have more than one high chair available since sometimes there is more...

"This hotel is perfectly located in the Douro Valley, making it an ideal base for exploring the region. The included breakfast was exceptional, with high-quality ingredients and a great selection. The on-site restaurant offered an outstanding dining experience for dinner, with delicious food and excellent service. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. "Staff were nice enough but not overly helpful. We actually had two separate bookings. First one was for 2 days and then we added another day. We asked what rates were available as they had a few empty rooms. We actually ended up booking through Expedia again because it was quite a bit less than what they offered at the front counter. There was nothing being offered to guests at check in - water or a complementary drink like most other 4 star hotels in Europe. There was a foul smell in the lobby during the three days. The hotel seems to be relying on people willing to accept less than other comparable hotels due to its proximity to the Douro River. Great location but otherwise it’s an average hotel."

"We came with a tour group and stayed longer on our own, most booked through tour company to stay longer, I was frustrated at check in after booking with Hotel.com the same category room and sending them message that we wanted same room, they were going to make us move. Finally agreed to same room then the maid said we were checking out so had to go to reception again, others had their cards denied and couldn’t get into room after tour over. They need to work on their computer system. A lovely view of city, great pool area, nice sitting area outside room. Not convenient if you want to spend a lot of time in downtown Porto but we enjoyed the break."

"The hotel is conveniently located close to the city center. It has a very unique vibe and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. When we advised them we were leaving early in the morning to get the to Lisbon, and we would have missed breakfast, they prepared a small care package for the drive. We didn't ask for it, but they offered it. That's how amazing this hotel is. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay,"
