"As always very friendly and helpful staff.
Clean room. Only downside was a faint drain smell in the bathroom which was probably due to local weather issues"
"It’s been a while since I stayed at the Alan. It’s alright but has bizarre elements that take the edge off it being better. My upgraded room had a large aircon unit bolted to the ceiling that made a strange noise every so often despite not being on, the lead on the kettle isn’t long enough so you have to boil it on the floor, and in this room the toilet roll holder was broken. The beds are good and it’s a nice space, but I’d advise taking earplugs! Definitely go for breakfast over the road at The Vienna Coffee house, it’s really good."
"When checking in, I was told I had been allocated a room in the adjoining building, which as someone who had just had spinal surgery, the extra walking didn’t suit me at all. After they found me a room in the main building, I discovered it had an extra 2 beds in it, which left not a lot of room space.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room and I had to go down to the bar to get a coffee to take back to my room.
Not good !
Bed was comfortable enough and tv worked.
Best thing if the stay was the shower, it was outstanding.
Don’t think I would stay there again 🤔"
"From walking through the doors we were made to feel welcome, the room was on the 4th floor and was a twin as requested. The room was very clean and beds comfy, I loved the rainfall shower didn't want to get out.
Can highly recommend a stay here as perfect for the tram and very close to Piccadilly gardens."
