Peaceful and cozy cabins. Cabins have off the grid toilets and outdoor showers. The volcano view is monumental. The only thing I would like to be adjusted is the loud talking from the kitchen staff in the mornings before breakfast.
This place is incredible. The staff is amazing. The view is to die for and the rooms are so cozy. You have to spend extra time here to take advantage of their donation based activities. We did a sound bath and it changed my life.
The most magical and exotic place we’ve ever been to. The views are spectacular. The staff couldn’t have been better. They were able to help us with all transportation needs and made incredible cocktails for happy hour! Having yoga on site was a huge bonus! We will be back!
We had a fantastic two day stay at Totoco. The staff were amazingly attentive and the room was superb.
This is a great spot to relax in and marvel at the view of Concepcion.
The only thing to note is how far the hotel is from activities and we would recommend renting a scooter or car while here.
Loved the location, and view. Food was good and bad. Great steak, and cappuccino. But you have to pay extra to get bacon for breakfast. The washrooms were huge, great outdoor shower with hot water, but the composte toilets were baducally an outhouse toilet. Staff werecamazing.
Totoco is on the best part of the island, but it takes some work to get there I HIGHLY suggest getting an ATV at the ferry and driving there. The driveway up to the hotel is quite difficult but certainly worth the views. The service was outstanding helping us with everything with we need before and during our stay. The restaurant is excellent, but there are also great restaurants right outside the hotel like La Isla Bonita and Café Compestre.
The room was beautiful with amazing views of the volcano and lake. There were monkeys on the property. The staff were freindly and helpful. There was a compost toilet in my room and solar panels on the property. The shower was really cool, it was in a outdoir area of the restroom with plants and rocks.
Beautiful spot on the island. Others also came to Totoco to see the sunset that was just amazing from here. Our room was somewhat dirty (dead insects and bird poop on the floor - I know, it happens in nature, but still it’s a higher end accommodation). Water in the pool was not treated, had ton of algae in it, which made many of us avoid it (it’s a shame).
Property itself is beautiful. We loved our cabin and the breakfast was good. However, there are no outdoor lights on the property which makes it nearly impossible to navigate in the dark. As a result, I fell into a thorn bush. The road to the property is awful and dangerous! The pool is not well maintained and does not look like the photos. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but will try somewhere else in the future.
I cant recommend this place more. It's so beautiful and special. Romantic and private. Such a gorgeous way to see the sunset, to unwind, to be relax. The people that work here are warm and super helpful in planning things to do. The food is beautifully prepared. I only wish we had more time. Thanks to everyone!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The property is very well keptv and the staff is excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. My overall 3 startbos due to the price for what you get. The main house doesn’t have any hand towels or
The views from this place are stunning! Great view of the lake on both sides of the island, as well as a great view of the volcano (we came during rainy season so it was mostly covered by clouds).
The food selection is a bit limited and not the best we had on trip, but still good!
The best part about this stay was their massage service, I didn’t catch her name but WOW she did an amazing job and it was only $35 USD for an hour of the best massage I’ve ever gotten.
The local cat Coco who sleeps on the property is so sweet and cuddly!
My one complaint about this stay is that the main road was closed (not sure how it is normally), so you’re required to travel up a pretty steep and sketchy dirt road that is filled with large rocks - only certain types of cars can make it and it floods whilst raining. To get to the main road you need a way down this dirt road, which is probably a little over a mile. I felt too sketched out to go down it on the ATV’s you can rent (for $70 USD a day), but then you must pay for a driver down.
So, overall, the views are amazing but in order for those views you need to sacrifice being a bit out of the way.
We rented an all day driver for $75 USD who took us to the chocolate farm, ojo de agua, and playa de mango - all were AMAZING!
(My other complaint is that the mosquitoes here are out of control, my boyfriend got eaten alive. The rooms have a bug net over the bed but other than that have some openings to the outside, so we did have a cockroach)
We loved our stay at Totoco. The staff we so kind, welcoming and helpful. Very accommodating. I have a few food allergies and they made accommodations for that.
The resort os beautiful and you feel like you are in a cottage in the jungle. The property is well maintained and the view of the volcanoes is unmatched. The entrance to the resort is up a very steep narroe hill so a 4x4, all wheel drive or motorbike is recommended. We brought our all wheel drive truck and had no issues. No lights at night so dont drive up or down the hill when its dark.
The coffee was delicious, the food was great. They did not have dairy alternatives however and that would be the only negative. We will be back for sure.
I loved everything about Totoco. The rooms, the location, the staff, the food, the views, it was a very comfortable stay! I got a full body massage from Lydia and it was the best I ever had in my life. Miguel seemed to be in charge of things and he was extremely helpful, kind, and accommodating. Pictures don’t do justice of this place. The property is full off the most beautiful gardens with crowds of butterflies overlooking the lake and volcano. There are bugs, but that’s what you’re going to get for being in such a beautiful location. The road going up there is also very rocky and I found a bit difficult to get up and down on my motorbike - just something to think about. Wouldn’t have been as bad with a quad or car. If you aren’t seasoned I would recommend parking it somewhere along the bottom of the mountain, when you first pull onto the road and just walk up/down from there. I walked at night in the dark to and from and felt completely safe the entire time, although there are dogs that will bark. I didn’t pay them any attention and they did not bother me. 10/10!!!
Very cute place but particularly for those who love the cabin/ nature places! It was just a bit too much of bugs for us but that is b because of the location! Everyone was super nice and friendly!
