"The stay was good. The breakfast was great. The employees were very nice. The only thing was from my experience working at a bed and breakfast that the housekeeping should double check their work because I found left over food in the microwave from previous guest and the sink in the bathroom was still dirty."

"I had a very disappointing experience at Colonial Inn. First, I was placed in a smoking room—something I didn’t even realize still existed. The smell was overwhelming and completely unacceptable. It was so bad that we had to keep the windows open the entire time and even went out to buy a candle just to make the room somewhat bearable. When I asked to switch rooms, I was told the hotel was fully booked, so we were stuck dealing with it. To make matters worse, they charged a $100 security deposit, and it has now been two weeks with no refund. When I called to follow up, the staff member I spoke to was extremely rude and didn’t even bother checking whether the deposit had been released. Between the condition of the room, lack of accommodation, and poor customer service, this stay fell far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here."

"Bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, window was very difficult to open/close, dead bugs and dirt around the window, air conditioning had a terrible smell, mildew smell throughout the halls and room, staff was miserable"

"Overall it was a great stay. Not a good place for a light sleeper. Have to admit the water didn't get very hot for showers. Good restaurant on site, im from the area and being out after dark in the area can be skeptical for the single traveler. For a quick in and out stay would stay again!"

"Clean and unigue. Love the history of this hotel and the location downtown. Staff was nice. Used the hotels parking garage which was easy. Visited our niece attending RISD and it was walkable. Would stay here again if in the area."
